Long time no post! New Motor soon

Hey guys,

It's been awhile since I have posted as I have been extremely busy with work as I have gotten a promotion

In other good news for those who don't remember I have a 2006 OB Sport Coupe. You know the 6spd oil burning variety.

Well after much time my oil consumption tests are completed, warranty invoked and my V2 long block motor is sitting at O'Regan's waiting for the donor to arrive next Wednesday.
The job should take 3 days and I'll have it back for the weekend hopefully.

They are giving me a 2009 G37 Sedan or a 2008 EX to drive which isn't a bad deal but can't decide which one I want...

Glad to hear it finally happened for you GO. I knew it would.

G/L with the transplant.

I haven't driven the G37 yet. No doubt in my mind you'll like it best though.

Now if it was the G37 Coupe it really would have been a no brainer but I do want a chance to try out the 3.7L so it most likely will be the sedan.

I hope the transplant goes well, I'm not crazy about the final day of work being a Friday.

In any event we'll have to see how it goes. They are supposed to fix my clicking rear axles as well as they have gotten quite bad.

I called down to parts to price up the splash guards for my 06 and they quoted $203cdn for the front...and $203cdn for the back.

Good thing I found them on everythingg35.com for around $200 shipped. Paint is starting to take a beating in those areas (mostly the back)

^Do you know who is doing the work? Probably Peter or Greg. IMO, they're both good techs.

Glad to hear you are getting the motor done.

Definitely go for the G37, try out the 7 spd and larger displacement.

Not sure who's doing the work yet but knowing that you know the guys is comforting.

Thanks Colin,

I'll most likely frequent the forums more if I'm happy with the car. As you can imagine I haven't been too pleased but things are looking up!

I've been in there dozens of times and in the shop several when they're doing my car. They probably think I'm a PITA.

Good stuff. It took a while to work through this with our "buddy" but after you jumped the hoops it looks like it will be worth it.

42K down to 0K will be pretty nice as long as all goes well. I wonder if that will reset the powertrain warranty?
