Jeezzz. Sorry to see this. Accidents that aren't your fault are so frustrating to deal with.

I don't have any advice to offer on aftermarket stuff.

Wow I am sorry to hear this. I was rear ended 3 times in the same car. After the 3rd time and about $20k worth of total damage I decided to get rid of it.

I had a guy back into me while I was parked, he destroyed my bumper so I had to get it replaced (he obviously paid). I'm just lucky he had enough integrity to let me know instead of just taking off, so I wasn't that mad. A new bumper and paint job came up to $900 at 401/Dixie auto collision. We didn't go through insurance.

thanks for the info. the bumper alone is 600$ +shipping. then i guess paint and install. should be under a grand... but my trunk is bent in as well. i don't know what they are going to recommend i do. it's cracked... so i'm hoping they replace the deck lid. i'm assuming that lid will be $$$$. i'm going to run to the body shop to get a quote. i just hope i don't have problems because the bumper is aftermarket

Sorry to hear about that. Good luck with the repairs. My Father in law got a new Accord 10 months ago and has been re-ended 3 times since. I told him that he's got to get rid of the car.

looks like i have quite a bit of damage on the car. rear bumper, trunk, fender and underbody are all damaged. apparently i was hit so hard that a couple areas on the underbody that are intended to crumple did so from the impact. by the naked eye u don't even notice anything wrong, so i was quite surprised when they told me.

thankfully i've got almost everything squared away though. i'm working with european autobody who really seem to be on top of everything. they seem pretty adamant that insurance will pay for everything regardless if they press any issues on the bumper or not. they will even be taking care of the adjuster on my behalf as well. so far i like what i see with them. i'll update once the car is back up and running. hopefully it will look and run good as new.
