Best price for z-tube?

Hey guys, where in the GTA could one find a z-tube reasonably priced? What does it cost anyways? Or if a few of us are interested maybe we can get a group rate from a vendor. Maybe Alta or Yorkville can put something together for forum members?

Thanks

Mine was about $150 from Brantford Nissan. (before taxes). That was with my 15% discount.

Re: Best price for z-tube?

I bought mine online through everythingG35.com
Here's a paste from the invoice.

SKU: 16576-CD000
Description: Nissan OEM Z Tube
Qty: 1
Price: $74.99
Extended: $74.99
Subtotal: $74.99
Shipping (UPS Standard to Canada): $12.76
Grand Total: $87.75

(that's about $120 Canadian)
Add about $25 customs duty/ taxes etc. so the total cost was about $145.00 or so.

What's a Z-Tube? What's the point of having it?

Re: Best price for z-tube?

Hi Wolfster, the Z tube eliminates the resonance baffles that the G tube uses. More airflow to the intake plenum and livelier sound.

Mind you, dynos before and after don't show much gain after switching, at least with Z tube alone. So you either due it for sound alone, or if you're after performance, then as part of more comprehensive NA mods (airbox, plenum, exhaust, etc.)

By the way, there are guys who have taken the G-tube and removed the two baffles (the big one at the bottom and the "tupperware" one on top), then sealed the holes -- then presto, instant Z-tube. Saving themselves $150 bucks.

Re: Best price for z-tube?

You can go searching yourselves, but guys with Ztube & JWT Popcharger have posted same dyno results for real, as K&N advertises for their Typhoon CAI, without the MAF contamination concern associated with having the nozzle low and out front, and at about 2/3s the price. Alternatively, the Z tube with K&N drop in filter really do clean up the carburetion, and while dynos only measure one thing- max throttle, you will find the car pulls far more cleanly under all throttle settings. The courseness the engine has when stock between 6000 and 6600 rpm is gone, too. And sound is neither loud nor obtrusive with the tube and drop in- just pleasant and authoritative. Buy from everythingG35 or ebay for the best price. Get an american friend to deliver if you're not a fan of duties and taxes. Easy install with instructions here in the forums. Far better dollar for dollar results wrt performance than say, clear corners or skyline badges (not that there is anything wrong with personalising your ride or keeping it looking good; Lord knows I should own stock in Zaino ) )

Cheers,
Derek

Re: Best price for z-tube?

GROUP DEAL anyone??

I can get these, but they are hard to come by for sure I will gauge the interest and order according to the responses.

The Z tube lists for $167.00 each before taxes. So us T.O people would have to pay about $192.00.

The initial price I can do right now is $161.00 taxes in. CASH DEAL. No credit cards!!!! I have one in stock ready to go. But I will be making an order by the end of this week. Aproximate time for getting a Z tube is about 2-3 weeks maybe sooner. The more orders will lower the group buy price! So far I have about 4 on order already.

Those interested please email me at mogiemo@hotmail.com

Cheers,

Jerry

Re: Best price for z-tube?

I got mine from everythingG35.com as well and asked them to ship it using regular USPS air mail. ASk them to declare a very low value or as a gift. No brokerage, taxes or duties. Grand total was about $120cdn. It took me about 15 minutes to put it in and I love the sound (with drop-in K&N for now).

I agree with Gting. Just find one on the Z sites. It's worth the wait until one comes up for sale to save money. Even if a Z-tube for sale has been posted for a while, PM the seller anyway to see if they still have it. There's always a chance that they do. I PM'ed a guy who was selling one but it was an older post. Low and behold he still had it because the deal fell through. Sold it to me for $55 including shipping. Just put in on this afternoon - it took longer to gather the tools than it did to install it.
