I use Amsoil summer and winter, but I don't see any downside to the QS winter blend, especially at that price. Just use a good filter: Wix/Napa Gold/Amsoil. Not a Fram.

I hear the OEM filters are no different than Fram filters, except more expensive. I personally use K&N.

Not at all, they can be very different in their construction and quality.

No as in every other product you buy there are quality differences and variations in product. I haven't met a mechanic that says they're all the same shiet. That would not be someone I want working on my car.

i went to canadian tire today, the 100% syntthetic mobil oil was around 43.99 plus tax, still pretty expensive, there was another unknown brand selling it for 23.99(full-synthetic) it was named something like moto....bla bla

hope to get a good deal on boxing day, we can store some for the spring.synthetic oil is really expensive.

That is complete mis-information. Back in the day I had seen oil filter analysis being done on many different filters, including fram, different OEM nissan filters, etc. The materials being used for the anti drain back valves, endcaps, etc, varied as well as the area of actual filter material. I clearly remember Fram making a sub-par filter in comparison to the rest. After doing my research, the only filter that I will use with a VQ motor is the Japanese built 15208-9E000 filter (the one used for the first generation VQ30DE motors).
