Pretty sure tire rack has preferred shops where your tires can be shipped to and then installed when you arrive. Ask them about it.

^Yes, you are correct Deane.

The other thing that TR does is calculate the total cost shipped to your door.
This includes shipping, brokerage fee, duty & taxes.
....so no surprises at the door from UPS

If you put something in the shopping cart & start to check out,
it shows the complete cost breakdown (US $) before you finalize the purchase.

Anyone know anyone who has purchased tires here:

Might be another alternative.

has anyone here used the mailbox services available right across the border in buffalo to have parts shipped there? how was the experience?

I am highly considering buying a set of wheels from the US with tires and having them shipped there, then picking them up from the mailbox when they arrive.

Many, many times!!!!!!!
.....there are several posts on this.

Here's the process:

1. Email Ann at usaddress@adelphia.net She'll ask you for some info and give you an address that looks like this.

Your Name
3909 Witmer Rd
Niagara Falls NY 14305

They charge $5/parcel.
They are 5 minutes from the border.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
word of caution!
- be very careful to FULLY inspect for any damage or shipping issues.
- do not take them across the border if there is any problem.
- you will need to process the return of goods from the point they were delivered to.
- be prepared with your vendor contact info, you will need to call them if there is a problem.
+1 on that, also be sure to have a bill of sale, mine was missing from the parcel when I went there and luckily I was able to get one faxed to me.
There is also can-am mailbox rental. Rates are very good, it cost me 5 dollars to pick up my winter tires there. But I do use them pretty often for parts from the US. Living in Hamilton makes it easy to get to the border. can-am is at the whirlpool bridge so you can cross go there and be back in less then 20 minutes.
They use the same idea
Your Name
c/o CAN-AM MAILBOX RENTAL
2315 WHIRLPOOL STREET
NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14305
And for really cheap tires try http://www.tiresbyweb.com free shipping in the US
Just call can-am a few days ahead of time to tell them a package will be arriving with your name on it. Make sure the shipper puts your name on the package. Confirm with can-am the rate for the parcel, but it's usually 5-10 bucks for a 'first timer'. Or you can rent a "suite" for about 80 something a year.
Actually you have to cross at lewiston or rainbow. You can only cross whirlpool if you have the special pass. (whatever it is called.) And I'm not sure if you can come back that way or not. I find rainbow bridge is a little easier to cross. But I usually go after i work a midnight shift, so I am coming back home at like 10 am which makes a big difference
Shipping to Buffalo?
Does anyone here ever ship parts to Buffalo and pick them up? Where do you guys normally ship the parts to? I know UPS and Fedex will hold at location but Fedex requires it to be shipped express, which ends up being much more than the standard shipping. Any tips on ways to keep taxes/duty down when crossing the border?
Thanks, that was exactly what I was looking for
I also found this place....http://www.cbiusa.com/
Has anyone ever had or heard of someone having problems with shipping to these places? Mainly "lost" packages?
