Re: Insurance

It's actually an interesting topic. Currently, I am paying close to $1900/year for the G, and I am with Motor Insurance Co. I believe the insurance premium went up just after this past June. And since we had to declare the G in business use class for tax purposes, my premium is kinda high.

The other thing, I was told by my insurance company that I HAVE to have $1000 deductable since the G is a "16" rated car whatever that means. Just wanna check if you guys are having the same policy. I would imagine fhr coupe, the rate is gonna be a lot higher.

G35: Black with Willow/Canadian Premium Package.
Z3: Silver with Red leather interior.

Re: Insurance

I was quoted just about $1850 on my coupe which I am supposed to be picking up next week. This of course is contingent upon the fact that it's the same insurance company that is insuring my house and other car -- so there is some kind of discount incorporated. It factors in, as well, the fact that there are 2 drivers in my home (wife and I) who have perfect driving records. Insurance companies will also factor in:
1) where you live
2) whether you drive to work with the car
3) whether you usethe car for work
4) whether there are any non-factory installed extras (not that you'd need them).
I was the first person to call the insurance company with a G35C request -- but they were able to give me a quote based on the serial number,

Re: Insurance

I was quoted $1802/yr for the Coupe from State Farm.. the car wasn't in the database but they said they'd go by MSRP ($47k). That's for $1 mil/$1000collision/$500comp with a bunch of discounts (6 star, multi line, multi car). Single male over 25. Tried it on RBC and TD online, they were around $1400-$1600 but that was for the sedan.

Re: Insurance

And they won't let you take only $500 deductable right? I was told by my Insurance company (Motor Insurance Company or MIC) that for G35, the minimum required deductable is $1000. Just want to double check.

stalker > It all depends on the broker, they can make it $500 deductable. I was first told that it was $1000 but this guy was nice enough to give me $500 instead. What I heard is that any car that is over $50,000 on the road has to pay $1000 deductable so just tell them it's worth a little less. Even if they want a bill of payment, it shouldn't really matter at all.

Re: Insurance

Well, my purchase price was $47K, but I was given the reason that the car is one of "16" rating, whatever that means and it has to be $1000. What insurance company you went with? MIC usually offers very good price if not THE best price throughout the years, except this one.

Re: Insurance

Here in Manaitoba (Winnipeg), my premium with $500 deductable, $2,000,000 3rd party with no accidents is $1450 for business all purpose use. I thought that was a lot but from what the rest of you are paying, that's pretty decent and it also includes the plate and registration fees.
