The (Toyota) dealer where I bought the car had just put brand new Toyo Proxes TPT A/S's on it. They are quite passable in all conditions except snow, and are reasonably quiet. If I'd had to replace them, I'd go with some Bridgestone G019s; I had their predecessors the RE910s on my previous car and they were very good in the dry and phenomenal in the wet. Plus they look good, and that is a factor for me. I know, vanity, thy name is Swivel...

Apparently, I'm searching for the Holy friggin' Grail of wheels. I have yet to find the perfect ones to replace my OEM 19's...

(My skillz of a Google were defeated - I searched in vain for a pic of a hottie in a rubber tire bikini for you, to no avail. Word to the wise, though - exercise caution when searching 'slingshot' w/o moderate safe search on...< shudder >...)

Thanks for your help everybody. I just ordered 4 Yokohama s.drives (245/40R19) for my Coupe 19s. I should have them mounted within the next week or two. Surprisingly enough, Kal Tire's prices were actually in the ballpark for once. Final price including mounting/balancing/taxes/fees = $1540. Could have got them for $1190 elsewhere but the extra Kal Tire warranty (flat repairs etc) was worth the extra $50.

Hopefully this snow will be gone soon so that I can consider throwing them on by the end of April.

$1130 incl installation/balance/disposal/valves and I went with nitrogen in the tires which were extra (included in my $1130).

anyone looking to get new rubber in the toronto area.............north york area has the best tire prices. I've called maybe 30 different shops and got quotes from many.

Recommended shops for pricing in GTA:
- OK Tire in Mississauga (they quoted me $1111.80). Tires would take 5 business days to arrive
- National Tire near Yorkdale (they asked what I was quoted and I told them above, they said they'll do it for $1100). Tires were available within a day
- Superior Tire & Auto Centres in North York is what I went with. ($1080 not incl disposal and valves). Tires were available within a day

Exactly my thoughts on the ce28n as well.

The other pet peeve is extra holes for another bolt pattern size.
IMO That really cheapens the look.

I love the rest of the wheel.

 

i bought my oem rays for 800 and they had almost brand new tires. i guess i got a good deal, by the time i need new rubbers ill probaly just sell them and upgrade rims.
