not my car (drive it all year round)... but i'm slowly bringing my bike back to life. this past week i've flushed the coolant, changed the oil and re-torqued some critical bolts. this weekend i'm planning on installing an hid light for my low beam and hook up a custom timer that i soldered together. next week it's new tires, a proper wax job .. and then .. hopefully .. out back riding in some nice spring weather.

????

Sounds good Roman

Latest long range that I've heard is a warmer & dryer spring than normal.

My take on it FWIW....
I kept my BMW running through the winter as well.
What I did was wait for a clear day & take it out on the roads & get a full warm up cycle into it.

The issue with just starting and idling is condensation & excess moisture build up.
The car gets just warm enough to condense moisture which is then added to your oils, exhaust system etc.
Only a full warm up cycle drives the moisture out.

I stored other cars as well & I would completely moth ball them until spring.
There are lots of good 'how to' articles on the web for this.

Sounds great. I miss riding.

I believe there will be a bike in my future once again but probably not for another 4 years or so!

+1

I've done both methods many years. My preference and practice has been both of these.

The only thing I have avoided is regular cold start and lots of idling while in storage. IMHO that equals bad.

The thing I liked most about the moth ball method is,
that it almost felt as good as when you bought the car new.

Yes, after having the car for nearly five years now I just had the "new car" feeling two days ago. It's especially pronounced after alternating between a Dodge Caravan and Sunfire.

Car is still sitting in the garage here. I'm going for a drive later today.

Parked it on 4 carpeted mats, threw moth ***** around, charged the battery twice a week, changed the oil last weekend and started her up. No problems.

May I interject fellow Canucks?

I HAD mine in storage, but with no supervision I opted to have it placed at a fellow friend's house.

I now know what it feels like to be like you all. The anticipation of driving my car in June is unbearable!

Interject away!

Good plan on the move to the friends place.

There doesn't seem to be too many of us in the storage situation or at least not many have chimed in!
