New, wonderful noises.

A few weeks ago my 07x started rattling in the dashboard area, seeming to come from the center, around the base of the windshield. Small, sharp bumps (like those on lumpy/icy roads everywhere in Calgary then and now) drive a sharp rattle/squeaky rattle. The squeak is like rubbing styrofoam against itself.

Yesterday AM, I was running up through the gears and there's a new rpm-dependent buzz like a hedge clipper coming from behind the instruments. Starts above 3500 rpm and is more prevalent when holding speed in gear.

The dealer replaced the steering column about a year ago - likely something misrouted or left unclipped.

Service appointment booked for March 31st at Hyatt. Ought to be fun.

Cheers,
AD

Good luck, A, let us know how things turn out. Are you working with the Hyatt rep who's on the site now?

Just spoke to one of the SAs, can't remember a name. Seemed more accommodating than prior occasions.

Which problem, the dash or the instrument/rpm dependent buzz/rattle?

I'll advise once I know. And if they fix it.

^^ yea the dash rattle buz sound its really annoying and iv been having it for sometime now. mine is at lower rpms and usually wen the car is at lower speeds but i can still hear it at higher speeds too sometimes. i appriciate it if you let me know and they tryed for me but they had no success just eneded messing up the cover above the clock/temp/compas on the 05 coupe.

Great. Now the instrument buzz noise is gone (dash rattle strong as ever).

I thought I read something about sealant inside the heater core that sounded like a buzz. Or am I losing my mind?

that buzz thing sometimes happens with my car too. but the next ride you know the buzz is gone, i suspect something is loose.

Have you searched the general section, i can clearly remember a lot of people have these complaints.you might find the asnwer before the mechanic, i dont mind the noise that much since its not constantly there.

It should come as no surprise that the car picked today to not make any rattles the dealer could hear.

I heard them on the way down there in the AM...

Test drive with the SM - all quiet on the G's front. Oh well, at least the complaint is documented for warranty should it arise in the future.
