Anyone looking to get their cars windows tinted in the GTA? I am

Right now my car has 35% front and 18% rear tint. I don’t like it because it looks to be titanium or metal based tint. It has a lot of green reflection to it. Kind of like silver sunglasses but greenish. A few years ago that was the top of the line stuff, it reflects light and VU rays very well but I don’t like the look of it. My old car had a dyed tint, dyed tints will fade quicker and will can purple over time but I liked the look of it better. It was black looking, or black tinted looking. Mine was 7 years old and the purple colour just began to become noticeable.

My uncle just got his windows tinted by a guy that we have used or recommended 9 or 10 times. The tint on his car is a metal based (I believe) tint, it is not nearly are greenish as my tint but still to green for me. I asked the tint guy for something less green but he said that, that all of his tint from that manufacturer is greenish.

--------------
So I am going to removed the tint on my Z and get it redone with a Charcoal Dyed Film, this will look black not green. I have been looking around and I am going to go to Audio Heaven, I had my alarm installed here they also do allot of business with The Toronto Civic Club. Feedback has been good. I went and spoke with Jeff the owner and explained my expectations.

The web site says

Solargard HP True Grey Metalized Window Film
Starting at $179.99- Lifetime Warranty

Solargard NR Charcoal Dyed Film
(A Dyed Window Base Film )
Starting at $199.99- Lifetime Warranty

But its $189 on the TTC forum and they quoted me the same.
2 door cars are $189
4 door cars are $199

We may be able to get a few bucks off if we group buy this, is anyone else looking to get their windows tinted?

Audio Heavens web site http://www.audioheaven.ca/tints.html

Let me know

Kevin

Add you name to this list if you are interested, once I find out how many people are interested I can talk to them about a discount.

Solargard NR Charcoal Dyed Film
(A Dyed Window Base Film )
Lifetime Warranty
2 door cars are $189
4 door cars are $199

I am sure they offer I higher level tint but this would cost more, add you name and info anyway though. I am looking at this tint because it does not have the greenish tint to it.

Jeff did my coupe in November, he does good work.

Right now 2 door cars are 179 from Jeff, not 189!

He has some sales on DD units too I believe!

Go to Jeff at Audioheaven and tell him Arthur sent you with the G35.

I wouldn't go with the metalized tinting because our antennas are on the rear window and the tinting will potentially distort the reception

I'll be looking to get this done very soon as well! I was part of TCC back in the day as well and have my EJ1 tinted by him and he did a great job! I also had my compustar alarm done by them as well and everything went smooth! I would definitely recommend him again! By the way, I don't think these tints turn purple because I specifically remember him saying they don't! Don't quote me on it tho, things change! I'm in tho!

there are cheaper places than that, but it depends on what brand tint they use. there are many different quality of tint. Audio heaven uses Solar Gard, i know this because they say and i also called Solar Gard, they sell to Audio heaven.

I spoke with Solar Gard about this, the NR Charcoal Dyed Film is black looking, the HR Charcoal Dyed Film has a tiny bit of green in it. They higher non dyed tints have more green in them. Ultra Performance, HP Quantum, HP Supreme, Supreme

how did you find that out, i ve heard an e-mail was sent out listing a sale price of $179 until the end of April
on the TCC forum during the winter it was $159 but that has ended now, they posted a new price of $189 on there now

I ll have to see maybe we can get the $159 price again or better

what is offered in

NR Charcoal
NR Charcoal 54 %
NR Charcoal 35 %
NR Charcoal 23 %
NR Charcoal 17 %
NR Charcoal 7 %

i have 15%front and 5% rear on my cavalier and my 350 has 35% front and 18% rear right now.

I am thinking of going with 23% or 17% front and 7% rear

Xerman2001, I'd be interested in a group buy. And I'm very much on board without any hesitations since you're going to Audio Heaven.

My question is this, the rate that was quoted to you, was that the rate for removing the old tint and then applying the new tint? Or is that just the cost of applying the new tint?

My car currently has tints on the back windows and the rear window, but not the sunroof and not the front windows and I'd like to even it out. I'm not sure of whether I should or whether I have to remove the old tint, or just even it out and get the fronts done.

Let me know how you're proceeding. Audio Heaven is too far for me to just go out and have them look at it and get a quote and then have to come back for my scheduled appointment and my own schedule is just way too busy for all that back and forth.

Thanks,

the quote is just to install the tint, i was going to remove the old tint my self.

they said its $100 to remove the old tint, plus $179 for the new tint.

i dont know if the tint would match your old tint or not, it depends on the kind of tint and the condition. If you leave it i would estimate it would cost you around $100 to tint the 2 fronts and the sunroof. If you remove the old tint and tint the windows and sunroof i would estimate it would cost you around $280. so its $180 more, you could just do the fronts, if you don't like the total look then go back and spent the extra money, i estimate it would cost around $40 more this way though. its up to you
