Gettin an 09 Rav 4 ?

Hey Guys,
Our 2000 Dodge Caraven SE is headed out to a new home. Tried a few makes and Nancy likes the Rav 4 4WD 4cyl. with the convenience package.
48 mo. lease $450 all in /mo. $13,500 buyback
Looked at the Escape, it was alright, my arm kept hitting the console while turning and you can only buy it, no lease.

Any and all comments welcome.

Have you looked into the Rogue? I think that is the car I would get as a second car. Good on gas and its still in the Nissan family.

The Rav will have room (not much) for our Standard Poodle to be in the car with 4 adults. Not enough room in the Rouge unless he lays down.
I liked the Rouge too.

+1 on the Rogue, it is a nice vehicle as is the Rav 4 which is also a great choice. I have a coulpe of friends with the Rav 4 and they really like it. I don't think you can go wrong with one.
I would stay away from the Escape, it is no comparison to the above two.

The Rav4 is a good choice, and if for some reason you're feeling silly, get the V6 model, it's unnecessarily quick for an SUV
From Motortrend:
The RAV is transformed from a compact that barely chased the Escape to completing a best-in-test 0-to-60-mph time of 6.4 seconds, which tied the 6.2-liter 380-horse, V-8-powered GMC Yukon Denali. It also polished the quarter mile, which it reached in 15 seconds at 92.4 mph, and the slalom, which it ran at 60.6 mph.

i like the rav4, the v6 is a good option! i went for a run in one, they are very quick for a normal "cheap" (than bmw, mercedes) suv! either motor will be good though.

Thanks for the responses guys.
We took the 6 out for a spin and it was quick. Kinda defeats the purpose for fuel economy. I still have the G when I wanna feel the power.

My sister had the first gen rav 4 it was a fun lil thing to beat on the new ones are pretty nice. I'm sure if my sister's Rav didn't get written off by a drunk driving while it was parked on the side of the road she'd still be putting around in it. Hell my 95 Lexus ES is still on the road.with 450,000km engine's running strong but the body is done.

If I were you, I'd look into the new Toyota Venza. Someone down the street has one, in a colour very similar to Blue Onyx + tinted windows, and it looks awesome.

I like the Venza also, it's no deal in MRSP or %wise to lease and N can't justify it.
Think I may try a VW wagon or their Tiguan, as per a buddy's recommendation. Heck, I thought it was over.

Really, looking at the choices I think the Rav4 will come out on top.

IMO, VW's reliability just doesn't cut it compare to Toyotas.

However, hope in the end you get what's right and hope you like it .

I'd look into the ford edge, I don't know why I've really fallen for the look and feel of them. They aren't ugly, they have a little bit of go and they ride pretty decent. Quite a bit of space too.
