Thinking of buying a G35 Sedan

Hi everyone,

I'm in the market for a new car. Right now my top two choices are either the A4 1.8T Quattro or the G35 Sedan (premium package). Both are comparably priced, the main reason for the A4 is the Quattro for Toronto winters. Several of my friends have A4's, they are nice cars but under powered (even after chipping)
compared to the G35.

Anyone hear anything more about the rumors about an AWD G35 Sedan any time soon?

I would also like to know for all those that drove their G35's during the winter, how well does the G35 perform with say a set of blizzaks during our Toronto snowy winters?

Also can anyone recommend any dealers in the GTA, and what should I look to be paying for an automatic G35 sedan with the premium package.

Thanks in advance

Re: Thinking of buying a G35 Sedan

I was in the similar situation as you, but my choices are A4 1.8T, 325i, and G35 sedan. I had drove all of them, and honestly say A4 is top on my list. I shouldn't say them in G35 forum, but A4 is so great on handling(especially in winter), luxury , comfort and solid feel. But I would choose G35 if I am aiming for value and powerful engine.

My final decision is: G35C =)

Well, kinda off-topic already....back to the discussion on G35 then.

The salesman in my dealership said the AWD is coming this fall. But porbably not the ATTESA (forgot how to spell) used on Skyline R34 as most rumor said.

I would recommend you go to Alta Infiniti but not the Willowdale Infiniti(although I am going to pick up my car there on Sat.) In Alta Infinti, the sales always offer me some high-quality services in peaceful manner. And they offered me a good price on G35C too, but just not the car(they have a long waiting list)

Actually I did the same comparison except with the 330xi and this is what I thought. A4 and 330xi both have better interiors. I liked the shifters on the wheel for the audi but other than that they are both way too over priced. I worked out a comparably equipped A4 and it was around $4 G's more.

I would also recommend going to Alta Infiniti, that's where my family got our G35. Matthew (sales manager) is a straight shooter and gave us the best return on our trade-in compared to all the other dealers in the GTA.

I hear that the AWD is coming, but they don't have a set date. Best thing to do would be to call Infiniti Canada and ask them, but I doubt they will know either unless that info is officially released.

It's still a G thang!!

Thanks for the responses guys, I'll definitely check out Alta.
Any comments of how the G handles in the snow?

Cheers,

The G handles surprisingly well in snow but don't expect it to be great in climbing on ice. It's really a rwd.

We had almost record amounts of snow here in Edmonton this year. With good winter tires and 150 lbs of sand in the trunk, I went up icy hills that left many FWD vehicles spinning and stranded.
