Not getting enough hours at the Job....

Well for the second time this week and the 3rd time in 2 weeks I've only worked half a day adding to the $hit hourly rate and the fact that I'm not learning anything pertaining to Gas I'm not a happy guy.
I've been searching like crazy and had a couple of interviews at Heating and A/C companies but everyone wants a guy with experience...... Its starting to get frustrating

Damn... I hear about how people are being affected due to the economy but it really makes u think when someone you know is being affected by it. Sorry to hear, best thing right now is maybe to suggest offering services of your expertise during your free time. Perhaps djing for parties? My cousin does it and makes some good $$ on the side.

A party is a fail without a good dj

I know the feeling. I bit the bullet and took a job at my father's company.
But I know how they want someone with experience but how are you supposed to get experience if those who are interested in your services won't hire you UNTIL you get that experience. It's confusing and frustrating. People just aren't willing to train on the job anymore

I was laid off for 12 weeks beginning of the year, got called back and now I am all set for another layoff of at least 3 weeks maybe more depending on what GM decides to do over the next few days.

That's too bad Roy, hang in there.

It's really tough out there right now.....
We've struggled to keep our guys working too.

My contract is up at the end of July, so I'm also looking around for gainful employment. Again.

I'm happy about the slow down for now. We're on the EI work-share program. I'm off every Friday for the next 26 weeks and get maximum EI benefits for those days! It's a slight decrease in weekly pay, but in effect it increases my hourly rate.
The only thing I don't like about it is being concerned that the company could eventually go under if the economy doesn't turn around.
