I used one of these the other night and it works pretty well! And for 50 bucks, you can't go wrong. Might pick one up today.

I saw this so I went to go pick it up, found the impact and after many minutes got someone to grab it. Then they cant find the sockets so i gave the impact back to them, then as i am leaving i see a few socket sets so i didnt go back to get the impact. I will just keep working by hand like the old timey days.

Woot me too. I am so glad you made a thread for this. I also picked up the Mechanix gloves for 1/2 off. Mine had oil in the bag (covering the wrench) when I opened it though, is this OK? I am also going to be picking up the 161 piece ratchet set from Home Depot for $79, good deal since CT is selling one with less pieces for $130.

Question for you guys, I have yet to actually touch my vehicle and I was planning to start soon.

I got the socket set and impact wrench (I will only be using it for removing bolts, not installing), and I am going to be picking up a 1/2 breaker bar, 1/2 torque wrench ($19, regular is $50), 3/8 torque wrench, carjack, and jack stands from Princess Auto.

Here is the stuff:

TQ Wrench: http://www.princessauto.com/vmchk/to...=torque+wrench

Jack: http://www.princessauto.com/shop-gar...k-floor-2-3/4t

http://www.princessauto.com/tools/ha...rd=breaker+bar

Is the car jack decent and any jackstand you guys use for the G?

Bigger question I have is, how do you guys put your G on jackstands? I plan on installing springs and heard that without the attachment to jackstands, you might pinch the welds on the jackstands listed in the service manual unless you put some cover on your jackstands (I suck at cutting wood with no power tools and I don't believe they manufactuer this part as well. I know there is a puck mod but I think that is only for jacking? Any precautions I should take to make sure I don't pinch anything or jackstands I should buy?

I am planning on using factory jack to jack up the side of the vehicle (since it has the mount), than use my jack to jack up the middle. Then placing jackstands as in the service manual.

Sorry for rambling and somewhat off topic!

Costco has kawasaki impact sockets for $20 which is the same as the CT easy read ones pictured.
I have the same impact gun from 10 years ago.
One thing to note it works wel but make sure you have a premium extenstion cord or it will not supply enough power to remove anything.
The shorter the better but the larger gauge wire will supply it with enough power to work well.

Asad, good call on the 'removing only'. I can't comment on that specific floor jack, but I do have this one from Princess and these jack stands and all work suitably, though the jack stands could use a narrower saddle or some sort of insert. I'm thinking of cutting/grinding mine to fit better.

As for putting the car on jack stands, the way I do it (and I can't vouch for correctness here) is to use the floor jack under the differential, lift the whole rear and place the jack stands under the pinch welds -- that's where the manual tells you to place the OEM jack. You could also lift each side individually and place a jack stand, but IMO it would tend to lift unevenly and twist the car. For the front I usually use Rhino ramps but there is also a central jack point under the front.

Experienced guys, correct me if I'm getting it all wrong here.

Got 'em

..word of caution for anyone looking to pick this up

They have two different impact drivers BOTH at the same price.
One is a kit with sockets, but the impact driver is a LOT lighter duty.
Make sure you get the right one!!!

Mine's the one without the sockets, so see the pic if it helps.
