G35 C 6mt vs Acura CL-S
Re: G35 C 6mt vs Acura CL-S
When you're trying to beat a CL-S, you gots to "drove it like you stole it"
. Seriously, I've heard of 4th gen 5-spd Maxima's beating these cars from stop to 100mph or so..after that, the VTEC pulls away.
The G35 should beat any auto cl-s, no questions asked.

Re: G35 C 6mt vs Acura CL-S
I practiced a lot by reving up to a high rpm and it sure does feels the difference at the higher rpm. I never felt like it before and it feels a rocket!! I used to own '98 Honda Prelude and it wasn't like that b4. Now I'm becoming addicting to speed and yet I must control my speed limit otherwise speed kills!
Peace.

Re: G35 C 6mt vs Acura CL-S
So just for shts and giggles, I did some very unscientific runs to see if there was a difference ac on and off, top gear, 80-100 km/h (as I alluded to ref making passes). Bear in mind that I'm driving an AT, which in top gear at those speeds would actually have mechanical advantage over a six speed, but heck, it's a start.
So here's what I got:
ten tries each of ac on and off, roll-on 80-100 km/h (regulated using rpm to ensure better accuracy), top gear, pedal matted, stopwatch good to 100th of a second:
ac on: best 5.13, worst 5.38, average 5.25
ac off: best 4.84, worst 5.10, average 5.01
Short unscientific answer: More than point two of a second caused by use of the ac. At 100 km/h, that's more than a car length and a half.
You decide, ac on or off.
