if Vic says so about the Genesis i will rely on his opinion. just to re-phrase I'll still go according to this preference list
1-2008 g35 or a killer deal on g37 or
2-Bimmer new 3 series (2nd hand)
2.5-impreza STI WRX
3-altima 3.5 coupe (new)
4-accord GT (new)
5-nissan 350 z (2nd hand)
6-honda s2000.(2nd hand obviously)

this doesnt mean 1 is the best car, its just thats what i would do, 2 seats will be my last resort since i dont have a beater car.

i wont spend my hard earned money on a questionable new car(genesis) or a chick car with terrible re-sale value.(eclipse)

there are many good cars in the market, tell your friend not to reach to a conclusion easily, go to a dealer and test drive these cars. That would be the best solution. Good Luck

ill say the genesis and not the 2L turbo cuz insurance is crazy on them the 3.8L is good. the only reason is cuz its rwd and it looks better inside and out. they are trying to compete thats why they made the genesis and its the best bang for buck car out there for the moment. the eclipse has a very cheap interior it may looks good but everything is plastic.

Go with a used G screw the Eclipse and the Genesis. I was just out with the G and gunned a corner with the VDC off and my *** end was swinging like a son of a bitch, now that is fun. I've seen a few Genesis around town and they look like the are stamped from a mold, not like the lines of a G.... After my *** stopped swinging the tires grabbed the pavement and I shot up the road like a bat out of hell.

watch the video, man if the genesis 3.8 cant even beat the v6 version 2010 camaro thats just sad, camaro is heavier and less on hp. the results are 0.1-0.2 better with genesis, but still disappointing.

you know what the new 2010 camaro is growing on me, not that i have money right now to buy, but it looks like an awesome car(reviews and figures). i would definitely get the 3.6l 306hp version than the other version v8 6.2 is way unefficient and gas guzzler. when im done with my car I ll consider g37 coupe or the camaro )

I'd bet actual money the 6.2 is no worse on gas than our G's. I'm seeing numbers of 23-25 miles per (US) gallon highway, helped out by active fuel management.

But I agree with the car growing on one; I didn't like it at first but I've seen a couple in showrooms and they are a very nice car.

+1 on fuel actually the new camaro engine is pretty gas friendly surprising to see from american cars. I thought it would be pretty bad.

"The V6 version of the 3,700-pound vehicle has 304 horsepower and is expected to get 26 to 27 miles per gallon on the highway, Peper said. The V8 has 422 horsepower and is expected to get 23 mpg on the highway."

I told my friend to reconsider for a 2nd hand G, it all depends on the deal he's getting i think, but I honestly have to say that the Genesis looks stunning after seeing two drive by in the entertainment district last nite at the clubs
