Absolute Motor Sport Disappointment
Flashing light means misfire and you should not drive your car when it flashes. Sucks to hear they won't stand behind their mistakes.
Very sorry to hear.. I know Vuk & AMS..
Its a shame you did not search the my350z/Canada/East sub forum.. We could have pointed you in a different direction.
If you are still looking for an honest shop, that is more then qualified.. I would recommend checking out AdvancedPowerhouse
I know they have a few spare blocks ready & waiting...

so when vuk from AMS gave me the car he was in a hurry for z days but i would of him rather told me my car wasnt ready and check everything twice instead he rushed my car cuz he had to fix his own car which was very unprofessional especially cuz i was waiting standing up at his shop for literally 7 hrs.
wen he gave me the car i was running 4 proper cylinders and one was misfiring so 5 cylinders total. then wen i plugged in the coil i was running with 5 proper cylinders and the 6ths one was funky because the injector was plugged improperly. not only that but the header on the right side was missing 2 bolts out of 3 so just barely hanging on a single bolt and causing a major leak which is bad since my turbo its mounted at the back causing lots of lag.
also the oil pump needed to be re-positioned at the back since there is a long oil line that runs all the way back at the turbo.
vuk maybe knows wat hes doing with 300zx s but certainly rushed my car maybe on purpose so i would go back to him and get my engine swap cuz he knew i would do it sooner or later, i highly doubt it was on purpose but the biggest disappointment was that i treated him as a friend and i thought he would help me out and take some of the responsibility and this was before i knew how butchered the job was now i think he should of taken all of the responsibility for such a bad job and not blamed my harsh driving... since i drove the car nicely for 5000kms to break it in which u dont need to but i did it anyways i only really drove my car how i wanted to for 3-4 days. all and all from the day of install my engine went in less 2 weeks...
last thing vuk said was business is business and he didnt even help me push the car out the shop he just said that wen other shops butcher ur car wen u come back here ill charge u double haha as if i would go back there after wat he did! and of course he said no hard feelings why would he im the one that got screwed over.
i dont know how i would get the money back
im sure he would stick to his story that it was my aggressive driving mixed with an old engine then made my engine blow 2 cylinders.... any ideas??

yeah but its clear that its not ur aggressive driving style which caused this to happen. wow to the guy's ignorance to the situation. consumer's court or any consumer protection agencies might help , i dunno as well!!!
hopefully u'll get ur car fixed soon, GL

I recall standing at Vic's and saying "the car sounds like a Cessna" And when you were doing the video at Destiny's it didnt seem to sound or perform the way I thought a turbo was supposed to... Am I wrong or did anyone else notice this? I think your mech is "RI-TARD" hahaha sorry couldnt help but quote 'hangover' for that one.
Good luck on the search, too bad he cost you so much cash!

And you are def right about one thing.. Vuk does know his way around a z32.. but I would not recommend him for any work on our VQ based z/g's
If the findings from the other shop had been detailed with pictures to show the carnage, I am sure you could have gone the legal route to try and recoup some of your money.
Anyhow, if it went down as you say it did.... Then AMS has some explaining to do.
Although there are always 3 sides to every story. I am shocked to hear that he would actually say these things to you...

on a positive note the car was still making good power with only 4/5 cylinders i cant wait to have it back a new motor with lil kms with all 6 cylinders
have you considered small claims court? before any small claims trial there is a "discovery" phase where both parties sit down with the trial judge. during this time the facts of the case are discussed, and the judge will most often make some recommendations/predictions of how the trial would likely proceed - as an attempt to mediate the case out of court. if both parties are equally culpable then the judge may suggest hashing it out in court. if the evidence is heavily in favor of one party the judge may suggest an out of court settlement to avoid wasting the court's time, and court fees. (the guilty party may have to pay for all fees and related costs if the case goes to court).
if you feel you have a very strong case this may be an option. just be sure you have documentation of the events, proof of work done, pictures of problems etc.
i did this when i was 18 and buying my first car. i was stupid enough to leave a cash deposit on a car to have it inspected. it failed, and when i returned the car the seller wouldn't give my deposit back even though i had a receipt/contract signed by him. needless to say the judge at my discovery meeting nearly strung the seller up by his sac since he had no defence. i got all my money back - and i would have received damages & court costs if it had gone to trial. but nobody really wants that hassle.
