Changing colour of G
Although I love the red on my G Coupe I've been thinking of changing the colour to something lighter. I know it's going to cost some money but what the heck.....

Not quite sure Ian but I like the idea of something that doesn't show swirls & imperfections so much, like your platinum ice but that's a pretty radical change.
Maybe a custom combo is the way to go.

LOL, Deane. I love red. There was a time I wouldn't have anything else.
Your car looks so nice in red. You could always get it refinished (not repainted) and re-clearcoated for much less than repainting, and yes, it wouldn't involve door jambs, underhood, trunk or anywhere else that might show the original colour.
If you're bent on a change, I say Ian's Platinum Ice which I also had on the M45 or yore...... Great colour with character -- not too dark, and light enough to not show many imperfections/swirls/even dirt.
Lambo yellow is a nice colour and very sexy but it's more or less in the same colour vane as your red and subject to the same issues as you want to avoid.
Just my $.02.......Love your present colour and knowing how careful you are with your cars, I'd guess that it wouldn't take too much work/$$ to bring it back to 100%.
A complete change is a different story.........I'd say Platinum Ice or in my Lex's case: Mercury Silver which is very close to PI.....and expect to pay more for repaint in all red areas.
Great Idea, btw, Deane. Can't wait to see how that progresses...and what you decide on.
Colin.
