Alberta Meet - '09 Fall Meet Sat, Sept 19th
The 12th was my first choice. I can do the 19th as well.
12th or 19th I'm good for too. Although I wouldn't want to leave anyone out, but a drive through Banff or Kananaskis I think would be awsome. But you know me, I'm up for anything.
Driving directions to Kananaskis, Division No. 15, Alberta
374 km – about 3 hours 46 mins
This is from edmonton.
From calgary it would be the same road to banff just half way I think.
I did the google maps to get thoes numbers

300 km round trip from Calgary, but that's a big loop through Longview we could just go West of Calgary up to Barrier Lake or Mount Kidd or so and it would be a much shorter trip and we'd still catch some nice scenery, just not quite the caliber of the Pass.

Looking like the 19th is best...some can't make it the 12th and others who voted 12th can still do the 19th.
I suggest we go back to the original plan of meeting at the Petro-Can west of Calgary on Hwy 1 at the Cochrane turnoff, drive up to Kananaskis Village (about a 45 min drive at most) with a stop or two for pics. That allows the Northern peeps to miss most of the city and doesn't add a huge drive onto their already long trip.
Trust me, guys, the scenery will be well worth the saddle-time! (and I'll be happy to drive to the next meet in Edmonton)
I'll update the first post with some maps and times over the next few days.
Btw, welcome to spellcaster!

Sounds like a great drive. Nice work on the organizing Swivel.
Unfortunately I'm going to be down in San Diego for a conference and the Chargers home opener that weekend (poor me
).

I'm actually heading to San Diego on October 5th for a conference for a week. Took an extra couple days after so I can check out the sites. I've never been there before so I'll have to hit you up before I go on what to check out while I'm there.
Sounds good.
Other then the Padres and Chargers games I'm not sure what else we will be doing. I've heard that there is an aircraft carrier down there that you can tour; probably do that as it sounds pretty cool. There is also SeaWorld and the Zoo but I'm not sure if we will be doing those.

Legoland at Carlsbad, Aquarium at La Jolla, the famous San Diego Zoo and Wild animal park (not the same place), we are going to the airshow at Miramar on the 2/3/4 of Oct. and a few of the places mentioned here. And of course the beach!
