Ya I am out as well i don't think i would enjoy a big cruise like that without my car that kind of distance for the northerners makes it more of a Calgary meet.

Hmmm... maybe we should reconsider the route?

I would love to come out, and the location is the only thing stoping me from going.

350km round trip max, anything beyond that is a bit far for me. Kind of defeats the purpose of a meet if you spend 80% of the time driving.

Suggestions still welcome, and I'd love for the Edmonton/Red Deer/Sylvan/Lethbridge/Dogrump Creek guys to attend, though I feel like we've done the Red Deer thing.

Well we can meet in red deer then go west like gord was saying towards rocky. I know of a couple different clubs that use that road. Its just an idea.

The unfortunate part is if it in either Edmonton or Calgary its lots of driving for the other group. I would say Sylvan lake is the most common meeting place for car clubs in Alberta due to this reason, I always see car meets taking place like VW, NSXs, Lexus, Honda meets. I know its great for me I never have to drive but I understand what everyone is saying. I know the VW/Audi guys went to arm lake and had a BBQ the only problem with that is bringing the BBQ and all of the food. Sask crossing is a long drive from what I have heard and I am not sure if the restraunt is open all year round. I guess we could stop in Rocky Mountain house for grub then continue on the cruise west. If its a different day than the 19th we could ask Cam at Lightspeed to host a gathering with a BBQ and maybe charge a couple bucks for a burger and pop everyone bring lawn chairs and just hang out and BS there. It is a challange for sure making everyone happy especially with the distance involved for everyone. I am not 100% sure I will make it anyway with the way my work is going I might have to ask for a job up north for a few weeks

Something central is good, that way neither Edmonton or Calgary guys can bitch about it. Rocky Mt. House would be good as well, and I would have no problem throwing $20 towards a BBQ at Lightspeed.

Considering this is going to be a day trip for me, anything north of Calgary is too far. So you guys figure it out. If you settle on something too lengthy a distance, I'm out.

Going to RedDeer would be no different than a trip to Kananaskis same milage aprox round trip Calgary to RedDeer aprox 300km Calgary to kananaskis round trip aprox 300km.

It will be a day trip for all of us, no matter where you are driving from. We would all dedicate the day for this.

Its not so much the distance travelled, its where we start. Red Deer wouldnt be too bad really. But if the decision of the majority is to go to Rocky as well, its too much for me in one day. Same can be said for some of you with the Kananaskis trip.

If I dont feel like getting up a few hours earlier that morning, then I wont go. If I feel otherwise.. you get the picture. Many people feel the same, this simply wont align with everyones preferences.
