what's the most expensive italian restaurant in the GTA?
hey guys,
my girl loves italian.. and would like to know THE PLACE to take her out this weekend.. i want something upscale..(kinda like that show Hell's Kitchen) Via Allegro <--- sucked! though, their wine selection was TIP TOP! been to a couple of em at yorkville..... all i can say is, overrated... mediocre food.... and the waiters have attitude..
looking for a cozy atmosphere, should be crowded.
thanks thanks!

My favorite is the Coco Lazone on Collage St. Last time I went there the service was AWESOME, invisible waitress until you needed something, then she was right there. Food was fantastic, made everything to order. There is Green P parking nearby.
My GF at the time and I didn't drink wine so I can't vouch for the wine list.

The last time I was in TO, I ate an amazing Italian restaurant called Spuntini (IIRC). It was located downtown (not sure of the street name), but was walking distance from the Four Seasons that I was staying at. I am not sure if it's the most expensive Italian restaurant, but it certainly wasn't cheap. I remember the restaurant was very beautiful as well, all terra cotta type of interior. It was very nice and would certainly make for a nice romantic dinner with the GF.

It's on Avenue Rd just north of Bloor St, and it's my wife's favorite. We've eaten there many times. The wine list is very good, service always 8/10 or better, and seafood linguini with Pernod-cream sauce is a real panty-remover.
If you want something more casual (but still very nice), try Toni Bulloni on Cumberland between Avenue and Bay. It's my personal favorite, and I've probably eaten there 40 or 50 times. If you're really hungry, the lasagne (only available on Fridays) will blow your mind! Any other day, they do a killer Chilean Sea Bass with risotto.

ya.. thats a nice place...been there a couple of times.... speaking of king st... Verona (the first one by the parking lot in that strip) has some great pasta selections. Rabbit anyone?
the only thing i hate about this strip of restaurants is the fact that most of them are closed from around 2-5... which sucks when u wanna have a quick bite before avoiding rush hour traffic!
