Marriage......
Marriages fail a lot more often now because of one thing - both sides are unwilling to sacrifice. Everyone has way more options now, than ever before (or so they think), so relationships just do not last, like they used to.
My advice - try and live with the person for a few months to a few years first before you tie the knot.

^+1 you should live together before you get married, if you guys don't get too annoyed of each other within the first year or two you should then star thinking about it. Most people won't even last that long IMO
Marriage 101, eh? never heard of it. it's not required in BC i guess. i'm learning through the school of hard knocks since i don't say "yes dear" to everything asked of me.
and as others have stated - living together prior to marriage is a must, at least a year.

And David you don't need to say it, I will "Old Fart"
WOW!I haven't been alive that long yet, but that just sounds damn impressive
Been married for 5 years. I have a 2 month old. Best thing to do is live together for a bit, that will bring out each others bad habits, and at the end of the day, you will find out if you want to overlook those habits.
Some one said something about sacrifice, that is the most important thing in marriage.

^^ in BC on a beach with 90 friends & family (some of whom are quasi-religious), and catholic church is not mandatory here. that's kinda strange though, are you sure it's mandatory where you're from?
like i said before, i've never even heard of Marriage 101 or mandatory church stuff...i suppose a small municipality with a catholic-bias could legislate this but the Canada human/civil rights might disagree.

who told you that? that is BS. ive been married and divorced. whoever is telling you that just wants to milk your pockets
PS. don't get married.....and I am happily married for 6 years now I see my single friends and the grass looks much greener
