Good info Ian, the Amsoil appears to be outperforming the Mobil1

Very interesting. Do you think the earlier test might be showing more silicon and sodium and general wear due to still being in the break-in period? Also, am I reading it right you ran the Amsoil over 7100km and the M1 about 6200? All else being equal, it's a bit of an ****-kicking by Amsoil.

As an Amsoil dealer, I find the numbers very gratifying, thanks very much for going to the time and expense and especially for posting the results.

^ no, that first sample is at 19.4 km
I picked this car up on a lease takeover with 12.5K on it.

The silicone might have been a spec that entered during sample taking.
& yes you are correct about the the oil km for each
I'm going to run the next sample to 8km to see how it goes.

I do sample testing on all my cars.
It's the only way to know what's going on in there.

Always planned on doing it but never found anywhere local to make it simple to test always had to ship it.
I would love to see how my motul holds up at 10-12000 k.

These guys are in Brantford, but they provide mailer sample jars.
$2 worth of stamps ...that's it.

I have to reorder soon, I'll post up the rates when I do.
