Anyone change door lock?

My driver side door lock stop working awhile ago, and I thought I could go without replacing it ($200+ for just the door actuator) but its becoming a nuisance using my key to unlock the door every time!

I seen numerous threads where people just buy a $20 lock actuator and make a custom bracket to hold it...just wondering if any GTA drivers have run into this issue and what they did to fix it!!!

In the same boat, luckily mine is passenger...even more annoying if I need to get something from that side I can't even use keys to unlock it!

If you want a genuine nissan part at a discount there's a thread bumpin around here from Shawn which has a local guy in the GTA who can get parts for a fraction of the cost. He works at Infiniti/Nissan as I understand it.

Yeah checked with him, still $200 for passenger side in my case.

Considering just retro-fitting a universal one in.

Yeah I checked with David (Kijiii guy) before posting this thread, he pretty much told me $200 also not worth it IMO

Let me know how the retro-fitting goes...I'm going to check out futureshop for the door accuator, I get cost pricing at Futureshop (cousin works there) I'll let you know how much it is...

I got my actuator from David and it was $180. The install was a pain in the a** as you need to take the window out in order to access the lock. It took about an hour with some help from a friend. I think if you go to a shop they will charge you about 1.5 hrs of labour. Not cheap for sure.

However it is great to have my power door lock working now.
