Just do a search for Shock Sensors. Here are a couple of links that may help. If you install under the hood, it's very easy to simply tap into your hood sensor and can easily be done by yourself.

It may make a it of difference in terms of the sensitivity of the shock sensor. A sensor under the hood will not detect a shock, say to the rear window of the car as well as one mounted under the dash. Of course, you could set the sensitivity higher to compensate.

I mounted mine under the hood and it seems to work fine.

I'm probably adding 2 to my car as my shock sensor in my aftermarket alarm isn't the greatest (actually it's where I mounted the brain) but I would put one close to the driver's door, and one in the passenger rear quarter panel.
