Well at least the Jays gave you at least one smile this season. They should send the bill to Vernon Wells!

I was thinking the same, it's the least they can do for making me watch crappy ball all season! Thanks to Aaron Hill and Edwin Encarnacion, though, for those home runs!! Unfortunately my boy Scutaro is hurt and a free agent, so we might never see him in a Jays uni again.

congrats Wayne! I'm still old school, no flat screens in our house except for the computer.
I have a 32" Panasonic Gaoo as the main entertainment.

Congrats!

Since it was free, consider spending $300 on an ISF calibration. The difference is amazing.

Where does one get such a thing, and what does it do?

It sets up the color balance, contrast, and such. It improves the picture quality quite a bit.

Places like Smart Home and Holmes Theater and Automation should be able to do that for you.

More info here: Home Theatre

That's a laugh, am I not the guy who only gets hand-me-down mods from rich coupe guys who work -- occasionally -- in the oil patch?? Though I have to say, the mods-for-(Ams)oil program is working pretty well. Hmm, that reminds me, I owe Dustin some anti-freeze...

Proper colour, contrast etc. Calibrates the colours so they're correct at all contrast levels. On CRT type sets the picture geometry and point convergence are corrected. And they get into the factory service mode and leave all your controls centered with proper calibration so if you tweak it it's easy to get back to correct.

PM if you want contact info for the el numero uno ISF guy in Calgary.

Still waiting for the panel/BD player, but in preparation I hit the Holy @#$% Sale at my local Soundsaround for a new PVR, since they are on sale.

A Motorola box like the one I have already was $398, BUT Shaw is coming out with a new box so for $448 I got a Pace DC758D with 1TB (terabyte, that's 1,000 gigabytes) HD for 120 hours of HD recording or 600 hrs of standard def!

But wait, there's more!

Bundled with the Pace box was an external HD with another 1TB of storage! Woohoo, 240hrs of HD goodness!

But wait, there's more!

If and when I replace our current HD PVR (with a 1TB PAce box) I can move the external drive between boxes, so that's a bonus. Had I been feeling more flush, I would simply have bought two bundles and had 4TB of capacity.

Now if the dang TV would just get here! Another 3 weeks or so, probably.

BTW, if anyone wants a 36" Sony Vega, VERY few hours, it's going CHEAP. Bring two strong friends, LOL.

Sweet....
Definitely something I have to get to one of these days.
The damn PVR is always full & it's worth your life if you delete some one's recording.
