Mods please don't move this one!!!
I just purchased a new tv ( Panny 50" V10) and I'm in the process of picking up some HDMI cables.
Does anyone know of a place that you can get them for cheap in Canada( even better in the GTA area)? I will not pay out major $$$ for these since the pricey cables are just a big waste of cash.

Bill, either pick one up on eBay or the cheapest possible place you can find locally. Don't fall into the expensive Monster cable trap as it's nothing more than a huge waste of money. I get a kick out of friends paying way over $100 for an HDMI cable when a $10 cable will work just as well. People don't seem to realize that it's digital (all 1s and 0s) so the data either gets there or it doesn't.....no in between. So don't fall for all of the gold plated nonsense and just pick up a cheap HDMI cable locally or on eBay. What length do you need?
I order my HDMI cables from www.monoprice.com
I have ordered from them plenty of times and they have always been great.

You can also get them cheap at local wholesalers.
Dixie and Matheson has 5 or 6 stores side by side and i bought my father in law a 12 foot cable for $15 or $20 .

I would say there is one thing to look out for though, that would be the version of the cable. 1.4 recently came out, but 1.3 will suffice. Check out the comparison here.
I bought a cheap no name mini hdmi for my camcorder since it was not supplied with one. However, as I compared it side by side with the component cables that was supplied for the camcorder and the hdmi cable I bought, I saw a day and night difference. The hdmi cable simply sucked. I thought it was possibly due to the version of the cable as the packaging made no mention of the version!

The offer fast shipping to Canada, and they sell $5 cables that work just as well as the $50-100 ones you'll get from local gougers. I've personally run test and have this confirmed.
Anything else is a blatant rip-off.
