Gas consumption

2 questions? For the Sedan how many kilometers should you get on a tank? I got 600km from full till the light came on (using ultra 94). Is this a 76l tank? I only can put in 60l from when the light goes on. My car is only 2 weeks old; I’m on my third tank. If I calculate using the manual I should be able to get 900km on the highway 600km in the city. I do all highway driving. I do realize the specs are approximate but I thought I should at least get 700km on the highway

Re: Gas consumption

Our car is not a Honda Accord..... Our G engine is big and it does consume a lot of gas to burn. I assumed it is 12.5 L/100km. Also it depends how you drive in the city, like stop and go. As for highway, it depends how fast you were going for instant.... if you are going 120 km/hr, it will burn a lot of gas as compare to 100 km/hr. So, if you want to 700 kms on highway, then drive slow Otherwise.... F**K it and enjoy the RIDE!!!!

peace

Re: Gas consumption

Yes the tank is 76l. but I doubt you'll be able to burn all of it.
In my Sedan, I'd never go past 'E', at which point the low fuel light came on and it only took like 55 or 60 liters. So on the highway I could get 12km/liter which should get you about 700 km., but only if you're getting the same mileage as I was.

My Coupe's mileage isn't quite as good. I ran it down about 100 km. past when the light came on, (and long after the Navi. said '**** Dte'). At that point it took over 70 liters but I wouldn't recommend trying that since your gas tank's fuel pickup may not go as deep. Not worth the risk.
To get the long distances on a tank, you have to drive very conservatively, (no fun), at the speed limit but no more, and all hwy driving using cruise control.

The fuel gauges in our G's read optimisticly on purpose, so that you don't get anywhere near running out b4 the low fuel light comes on.
I believe you can go the distances your talking about, but only under very restrictive conditions.

Re: Gas consumption

believe it or now, things like open windows and/or air conditioning with take a big hit on mileage!

the number they claim is un very ideal circumstances, windows closed, A/C off, heated seats off, radio off, etc.

Re: Gas consumption

In my (limited, 900km so far) experience, I get about 10L/100km of mixed driving (about 1/3 in the city, 2/3 on highways). I drive conservatively most of the time, don't use A/C but keep windows open (blessed British Columbia, you know
