US G in Canada

Thinking of buying a 2006 US version G. I was wondering if I will get the same level of service for warranty work from Canadian dealers.

Anyone getting treated 2nd class?

I live in the Montreal area.

I actually have the deposit on it.

Yea they hate US cars and the service departments would rather work on cars they sold so you make the bottom of the list. I have also heard that there is no warranty on US cars in Canada I am not 100% sure on that try a search.

Warranty is 100% valid. However, no roadside assistance.

I imported my car last year from the US. I had the warranty transferred to my name. IIRC the car has to be registered for 6 months in the US for the warranty to be valid here.

I've never had to have any warranty work done though. From what I've read, alot of dealerships don't like doing warranty on US vehicles so you may have to fight them abit.

I have another US car and at least for that one warrany work is not a problem.

I have a US Tribeca, the local Subaru dealer has been exceptional and treats me very well. Even got a loaner once. I've had the radio head unit replaced and the front bushings done under warranty.

I don't really understand anyone not honoring the warranty. They still make money off it. My strategy with Subaru was to get the $60 oil changes done at the dealership and become a steady customer.

Well there are some conditions which are not set by the dealer, that's all. This is from the 2003 warranty book: http://www.infiniti.ca/en/general/ow...p/pdf/2003.pdf have a look at page 2. If the wording is confusing you can always call them up.

Other covered years are here: http://www.infiniti.ca/en/general/ow...arranties.html

What is confusing is which booklet applies. Mine is a 2006. Here are the 2 versions of the booklet.

http://www.infiniti.ca/en/general/ow...p/pdf/2006.pdf

http://www.infinitiusa.com/pdf/owner...ranty_2006.pdf

There seems to be a little more coverrage on powetrain on US cars. It's just an extra 6000km but it can make a difference if you're in that window.

If you are bringing the car to Canada and are going to get warranty service from a CDN dealer, you are getting warranty from Infiniti Canada (Nissan Canada) so the CDN policies apply.

Thanks.

I would be the 2nd Canadian owner. It's been in Canada for 2 years.

Ironically, it was orginally imported to Canada by Tony Graham Infiniti in Ottawa.

I've got an 05 american G as well bumper to bumper and power train warranty are all valid. I double checked everything with infiniti canada before purchasing the car. everything should be fine.

I made calls to the infamous Hyatt infiniti when my american car arrived. They said I would have no issues taking it there.

I had a hell of a time getting Doner Infiniti to do my warranty work when I purchased the car from Barrie Nissan. I can't imagine the BS you'd have to put up with in Montreal. - I've had bad experiences in Montreal with basic service ie food, shopping etc -

The APA information states that US mileage limits apply.

http://www.apa.ca/template.asp?DocID=253#INFINITI0

I guess I will call Infiniti to clarify.
