Holy sweet jeebus, $70k plus tax for an A4 Avant?? It's a sweet looking wagon, but that price is just insanely ridiculous!!!!

yikes....
I remember looking at the A3 with DSG when it came out & just about stained my shorts when I heard the price.
I agree.... they do know how to amp the price.

If I had the money, absolutely. IMO, the GT-R is work $100k MUCH more than an A4 Avant is worth $70k.
Just to confirm, I would not pay $70k for the audi! I hate it when people say $100k for a Nissan, damn right! $200k less than a Ferrari and a car that can hit 100km/h in 3.5 seconds & 200mph!

Totally understand Wayne. What bothers me is the fact that they charge that much additional for a body kit and wheels and tires......it's just absurd. There is no way in hell that an A4 Avant should cost $80k (taxes in) no matter what options are included. To me, that's like putting a body kit and wheels on a $20k Civic and charging $40k for it.
new audis are waaaaaay overpriced. i was at a car show a few years back where the S4 Avant (wagon) listed $84k. that's nuts. you can get into an A4 for less than $40k, but don't count on many frills.
bmw's, audi's, MB's of the world have rediculous "option lists" that can quickly add 20-30% to the MSRP of a base vehicle. even a $50k BMW comes with "leatherette" and not leather. real leather costs extra.
this is where lexus saw a big opportunity to simplify luxury car buying, and it worked for them - infiniti/acura as well. for some reason the germans still haven't caught on.
