Clutch replacement (Canada)

Was quote a price of $2600 for replacing a clutch at a Nissan dealer (Infiniti dealer is too far away). This seems a bit high to me.

If anyone had their clutch replaced, how much did you pay?

Go to Simone Performance in Newmarket...or even Advance Powerhouse. The labour is usually around $500, and then you have to source you clutch and you may want a lightened flywheel. I paid about $1200 for everything, I wouldn't spend more than $1500.

Labor is about 6hrs by the book. So you shouldn't pay more than that add the cost of a decent aftermarket clutch/flywheel you should be well under $2000

Someone else is paying the bill. It`s a standard OEM clutch replacement job. Seems high to me but I don`t really care but it does seem high.

It seems very high, i would see if you could upgrade to a Jim Wolf Tech clutch for an additional cost. if you are into modding at all its a nice upgrade over stock.

$2600 is nuts. the OEM clutch disk is not a pricey unit. what parts have you been quoted for? just the disk, or a complete clutch assembly replacement (pressure plate, throw-out bearing, shift fork, flywheel, etc...)?

if you do not plan on moddifying your car than stick with the OEM parts. sure the aftermarket parts are cheaper, and may offer minor performance advantages, but the downside is driveability and noise issues. plus when you go to sell, buyers may not appreciate the hi-po parts.

the disk is only 75 US, but about 175 CDN, go figure. I would personally go with an exedy stage one as the disk is a little bigger for more grip. The Jim wolfe uses the OEM disk.

I paid just over 500 labor at Simone's as well, including taxes and fluids, but i got the frequent flyer discount as I had 2 transmissions done in less than a year.

It turns out that labour was around $400 but the cover was $700 and the Flywheel was $1750! Ouch.
