my buttons are unused. I have a older model garage opener. I think from the early 80's.

Bummer....
Did you actually try it?
It's supposed to work with older non-rolling code units as well.

Mine is 65' and it works sporadically. It's not just a distance issue. Sometimes mine doesn't want to work a car length from the door. I also have to hold the button for about 4-5 seconds. It was the same with the coupe but not with other brands so I blame it on Infiniti. LOL

That's really weird Deane. The only 3 vehicles that I've had homelink on were ironically all Infinitis and they have always worked flawlessly from the end of my driveway.

Yeah, it is although I don't seem to be alone with this. Sometimes mine will work 50 feet down the street and other times not from 15 feet away. A couple of times I've had to give up and go outside to the keypad.

The fact we've had two other makes work fine at this house and both Infinitis being problematic makes me believe there is something wrong or weak with my last 2 cars.

On the other hand I have never bothered to mention to the stealer as I thought that would be a waste of time.

Maybe I've just been lucky so far. One issue I've been having that has been getting on my nerves is my FOBs have been going through batteries like crazy. The original batteries lasted for 2.5 years, and ever since I had to replace them on both FOBs about six months ago I am getting only one month out of them. I am buying Duracell as well so it's not like I am buying cheap ones. It's annoying.

I have one like that too Shane.
I switched to the spare & it has been fine for a long time.
I wonder if something goes in the transmitter causing signal leakage which causes battery drain.

That's very possible Ian. Both my FOB and Anissa's FOB are doing the same thing. Not a big deal, but it's a pain replacing the batteries constantly. I know one thing, when the FOB is dead I REALLY miss the convenience of not having to dig them out of my pockets. It's funny what you get used to.

I have to keep mine in working order so that I don't have to pop off the keyhole delete cover.
