my dad used to have an mb e350. one day he noticed a weird vibration in the car... i could feel it too. took the car in.. they ended up balancing the wheels 3 times and every time the vibration was there. he ended up going to a tire place with a newer hunter machine.

turned out one of his tires were bad. the techie claimed that the steel belt inside must have shifted slightly. neither of us had ever heard of such a thing... i didn't even think that something like that was remotely possible. but sure enough, as soon a replacement tire was put on the vibration was totally gone.
I had the exact same issue years ago. After switching out rims, lots of rebalancing the 2 tires ended up being bad. There must have been a bad batch. They were bridgestones IIRC.

have they offered Hub Centric Rings yet?, that may be the answer to your problem, I believe InTgr8r explained it, you need them to center the rims or else you are going to feel vibration.

I just wanted to close this thread off. I got the car back in the shop and they went ahead and changed all the rims and rebalanced everything and my ride is finally smooth again! I guess there must have been a defect in the rim which is great because I realy didn't want to go through the hassle of trying to replace a defective tire.

Now if only I could figure out why my passenger airbag doesn't recognize my girlfirend every other time!

I would definately recommend Active Green & Ross (on Bank St. just south of Heron Rd.) to anyone in the Ottawa region (although I don't usually see many posters on the forum!).

I've also done a fair bit of tire shopping this year and they've given me either the lowest price or a very comparable price.

Another branch of the same store also told me that the Bank St store is a "company store" and because of this they can sell their products at lower prices. When comparing prices between two different Active Green & Ross, this store always came out lower.
