Exporting from US :(STATE TAX Question)

I'm interested in buying from the states ( I'm from MTL ),does anybody know which EASTERN states DO NOT CHARGE STATE TAXES WHEN DRIVING THE CAR BACK TO CANADA. It seems as though some states are obligated to charge state tax if car is drivin back ,and some are not ????

If you go private sale you would pay no state tax, at the us border crossing all they do is stamp your papers, you would only pay gst and pst or hst or whatnot along with duty.
If you go to a dealer I am not sure which eastern states charge sales tax as some collect when a car is registered. That is the only way you would have to pay an extra sales tax.

Check out this wiki. It goes thru all States sales tax rates.

I believe some States with taxes do not charge the tax if the car is exported. You can call the States sales tax department close to you to find out more.
