Not enough snow for the Olympics!

I heard on the radio that they won't have enough snow for their ski/snowboard events out west and will be flying/trucking in snow from all over to meet the demand.. did anyone else hear this or am I going loopy?

Sheez, that must be one hell of a pile! Lol. My prediction in my some sort of fantasy world is our climate is going to make a bit of a switcharoo with florida in a couple dozen years! Haha

whistler has tons of snow. i was there last week - powder up to mid-thigh. the problem is at the local North Shore mountains, i.e. Cypress Mtn. Cypress hosts the moguls, half-pipe, aerials and snowboard/ski cross. a month ago everything looked great with 250cm bases locally. unfortunately (for the mtns) it has been 10-13 degrees everyday for the past few weeks, and we have had tons of rain. this has washed most of the good snow away. Cypress closed almost two weeks ago to preserve what snow is left, but it's too warm to make snow.

i hope VANOC is doing a cold-dance so we can get some cooler temps in the next couple weeks. nobody wants to see brown patches everywhere on the hill, and umbrellas in the crowds...
