Need New Tires- Suggestions

I have a 08 g35xs. I got Michelin primacys on there now bought at Costco 3.5 years ago. I got like 46k out of them. just the same size as what came on there all 4 225/50/18. I noticed a bubble in one of them the other day. damn. So I got my donut on there now. driver front. My plan was to wait till before winter so like October/November to get new ones but this bubble is screwing me up. i was going to just get one used one to use for a few months but my father in law said that's going to screw up the alignment. is this true? i should get at least 2 for the front but then that's wasting money also. I am short money right now just got married so not sure what to do. I work from home so i dont have to drive to work....but im an uber driver so i need to do something fast cause the donut wont last that long and i need to keep driving. is it a good idea at all to get one or two used ones to use for a few months?

i was told to get just 2 new ones then for the front for now and get the rear in a few months.

Looking at my options i dont really want the primacys again plus they went up like over 20 each since last time. They weren't that great in the snow and im from CT so weve been getting a lot of snow the last few years. . Consumer reports rates the michilen pilot sport as as very good but they are still pricey and i looked at other reports and said they are really only good for a summer tire. not good in snow. I did some more research and found the goodyear eagle sport all season are rated very good and are cheaper then the michilens and decent in the snow. Anyone have those at all and do they like?

Now comes the next thing is the size. I dont want the 225/50 again i want some lower profile ones with smaller sidewall. the goodyear dont even come in 50s only 40 or 45s. (tirerack has them for $146 for the 45 and then drops way down to $128 for the 40s) So what are my options here without screwing up anything and also can i just get 2 new ones for now a different size and keep on my primacys 225/50 on the back? I was gonna probably go with 225/45 but the cheaper 40s goodyear are tempting but will that look funny or screw anything up? Looking on here through forums i see a lot saying to go wider with like 235/45 and such. Please advise. Thanks.

If it's AWD you'll want to keep the same size all around. Yes it is OK to run staggered but has to be done right. On my Audi I run 235/40/18 Conti Extreme DWS and couldn't be happier. Best all season tire you can buy and has never let me down in the snow. In your case, using a 225/45 would probably be your best bet just keep in mind, the sidewall grows as you get wider so a 225/50 may look similar to a 235/45

I need to shop for tires soon, and had a really good experience with Michelin MXV4's. Previously had stock GY RS-A's (awful all around), then GY Eagle GTs (decent in wet/snow but didn't last long, sidewalls started to crack and leak air). It's safe to say that I will not buy a GY tire for a while. I had MXV4s since 2011 (stock size), and put 11K miles on every year and there is still thread left, no air leaks etc. They became noisier and always had a softer sidewall (so they aren't a true high perfromance A/S) but still handle well in rain and snow. Driving 50% on NYC streets full of potholes and $50% on Long Island highways, I am pretty happy with what I got out of them and am waiting for TireRack to have a Michelin $70 off 4 tires deal, as was able to get my last 4 a little over $600.

Don't have any recommendations regarding running staggered, as I've never done it. If I was in your shoes, I would probably get two new ones now and run them as a pair either front or rear, and replace the other two in October/November.

You need to get tires ASAP. That spare tire is not ment to be driven on. If your doing über and have to drive a 35 mile one way, and another tire goes out. Your done. Spare tire is ment to drive to the tire shop and get a replacement and back into the trunk. I know your working from home which is good that your not driving but for the future try to put some money aside for any repairs your car might need for emergency.

If the rotational mass on either side of the diff is unbalanced then it will throw off the trans and awd system. Idk if Infiniti is as finnaky as Audi but I'd say all 4, especially with that many miles on the current set the weight will be noticeable.
