Thanks, I'm looking forward to the next track session with this.

Just figured out were to pick up the tach pulse on the car,
so hoping to at least get it test wired over the weekend.

I still have to figure out how I want to mount the LED.
I don't want to cut a hole in the A pillar trim.

Nifty gadget. I haven't bounced off the limiter yet.

Ahhh, waz wondering what was taking you so long.

Exact same scenario, hence the sale of the G to smooth the waters a bit at home.

Want to pick up some tires soon. Looking at the Hankook V12.

Have to pull off the tint as I can't find a shop that will turn a blind eye for the inspection and to get plated.

Only 1 tint shop in town and darkest they go is 38% on fronts.

As far as mods I've still got to do the springs, the studs and the spacers. Probably going to let a little time go by before I sneak those on.

From most reports the Hankook V12s don't suit the M Coupe very well.
They have a softer side wall & the car loses a lot of it's point & shoot handling.

Direzza SportZ1 StarSpec FTW.
A lot of guys are running these & love them.
It's the #1 tire in that C&D shoot out.
price isn't too bad either.

There isn't a direct OE size choice, but guys are going with either:
235/40 & 265/35 which is down sized a bit
OR
245/40 & 275/35 which are close to OE diameter.

I'll be going with the 2nd choice next year.

Thanks. I've read the test from the link you sent. Seems to be trade offs on all the tires. Hankook was the 2nd rated IIRC. I haven't convinced myself I want to go away from OE size. I'd like to and also get the Direzzas but just not sure there won't be a lot of center wear doing that with narrow rims. They sure weigh a ton.

Tires are always such a subjective thing.
I was considering V12s as well, untill I read that a few guys weren't happy with them. IDK.

re Direzzas sizes the OE wheels are within tire spec rim widths.

...............................
In OE sizes, the Sumitomo HTZIII would be my choice over the V12s
I had them on my DPE wheels, didn't get a chance to really push them, but I liked the side wall feel.
They ranked 1st in the Tirerack test.

^yeah, you're right on with the rim specs albeit at the low limits. I had looked at that. I just found the 245 45's on the G's 8" wheels were terrible center wear even with less air than recommended. If you've heard anecdotal info that's more than I have so they could be right on. V12's just seemed to be a bargain price and a bit of sleeper from the article. Performed fantastic but that belied the softer quieter feel. OTOH, going for the ultimate performance might be the ticket for this ride. Truth is I need to be a bit budget conscious now too.

Guess I need to do a little more research. Appreciate your input.

My buddy here just picked up OE size contis again in the US.

Got a sweet JDM 1002 recirc valve.

Got JDM sunvisors

Got twin intakes (the routing is temporary for now until I get some new ones welded up.

Got a sweet new rad overflow tank as well (the water bottle is temporary as well )

Got slim fans and a shroud as well

Tucked the wires that run across the valve covers as well

and the whole thing needs a serious clean and polish!!!!

.

Watch out for engine covers with those fans.

I knew those wouldn't be allowed to remain visible.

You should keep the pop bottle, though.

Sylvan - I will have a closer look at the pictures you posted later when I have time to go grab my shades.
Wow that engine bay looks sweet (from what I can see of the residual image burned into my retinas - eyes close)
