Speeding Ticket...
yah it sucked big time. last thing i want is my insurance going up. things could of been worse. i was drinking also. im sure he smelled the booze, but the cop was a nice dude and let me go for that and just hit me with a speeding ticket rather than a DUI. he said since you are so close to home, being honest, and talked normal he let me go *PHEW*
i got dinged at 65 in a 40 zone but the officer wrote 55 for me, no point deduction, it was my first ever ticket in my life
i didnt challenge it since he was a nice guy he said i ll assume u did 55 rather than 65 and told me i will come to court (i know they can use their notes and charge me for the initial 65km )
but in ur case i think its better u challenge..

Just got one yesterday. Officer claimed I was doing 50 over. I asked to see the radar, he said no.
He came back with a 15 over ticket with no 'R' under the ticket code. Meaning he didn't reduce it and he went on a whim at how fast I was going. I was actually holding 2nd gear cause of merging.

where did you guys get caught? area, seems like tomorrow they are going to be all over the place, since the nice weather, i have seen all kinds of sports cars out of garage, best time for cops to get ya.
i would pay that no questions asked and be thankful there are a few nice cops left. If you take it to court it will come up that you were drinking (the police make notes on that stuff) and you will get no love from the judge. The judge could hit you with a dangerous driving charge as well then you will walk for awhile .

oh u were not sober while driving????, thats just plain wrong man. i have never drink and drive in my life, i have lost so many great friends because of that (lost 3 good friends in the same accident they were all drunk age 19), i would rather walk home than drive!
i think its better u swallow this one, since the notes being not sober can get ur license suspended and get urself a nightmare insurance premiums maybe even risk of losing ur license.i think u should be grateful with the penalty u got, but if u r gonna bet on the officer not showing up and not bringing his notes, good luck man!

So if he put the "R" down, then that is, well, a lie.
