Rogers Digital TV 'Quick' Start Guide frustrations
First, if you are a Rogers employee I don't wish to offend you in anyway. I'm sure you are well aware many people do not like the new quick start guide. I'm happy Rogers listened for a change.
If you dislike the new Rogers 'Advertising' Quick Start Guide here's how to get rid of it (as of Mar 4, 2010)
1. On remote, click the guide button
2. Select “Self-Service”
3. Click “Change GUIDE Order” option
4. Select one of the following options: “Quick Start menu first” or “TV Listings first.”
Keep in mind, if you press the guide button a second time (which used to take you out of the menu) it will now take you to the Quick Start menu - so you'd have to press "exit" or select a television channel to avoid seeing the Quick Start menu.

Pass it on.
If you really want to give Rogers your opinion about their new Guide go here.....

...and when you get to the Question: "To the best of your recollection, have you used the Quick Start menu" choose YES. If you choose NO the survey is over.

Yeah, I heard that too. If you complain to the right person you might get lucky and get something "free".
This QSG had me angry enough that I started shopping Bell online. I tend to dislike Bell more. Rogers came up with this Guide option just in the nic of time or I was on my way out the revolving door.

If you do go to Bell just be careful of their contract bullsh1t. That's the only way to get in unless you purchase the hardware which, by the way, is priced way better than the Rogers PVR/HD terminals. I think they want you to sign up for 2 years min. if you intend to rent.
I'm still thinking about switching. I used to have Starchoice. One very simple feature I loved with Sat. is I could block all the channels, that I did not subscribe to, from the guide. Why can't we do this with digital cable?...because they want us to see what we are missing.
