I would make the amount a little more, just looking at your wheels an idiot knows they are worth more than $400 lol

^+1, especially if they have tires too. It's really hard to tell whether or not you'll have to pay, it depends on a lot of things. You could always say they're knockoffs if they question the value. My best advice is just be prepared to pay and if you don't have to, then I'd say it's likely that you'll have to pay taxes and duty though. Declaring $400+ in a few hours trip is a lot to them. Best time to buy parts from the US is when you go on a vacation. I believe the amount you're allowed to bring back increased at 1 day, 2 days, 4 days, and 7+ days. Each person is entitled to about $750 on a 7+ day leave from the country.

I'd say that would mainly just help with proving the value. Most of that probably wouldn't help with getting them to give you a pass. There might be some way to give you a better chance, you just have to be creative. Just remember that if you get caught, you will be blacklisted. I know someone who's blacklisted and they said it's brutal when you come back.

What do you mean blacklisted. Wat would they really catch, cause they cant prove i didnt pay that price. thought the point of duties and customs was really so that we wont buy new things for cheaper. Why would they charge me if i just met up with sumwun and did a private sale? Help a brother out lol. When bringing my cf truck bak across, i said i payed 90 dollars and the lady didnt say anything. She asked for a bill of sale, and i showed her the ad, she read it and let me go.

I just brought in about $1500 worth of aluminum piping, couplers, T-bolt clampse...ect and payed $13.50 for customs and tax. It was shipped via USPS/Canada post. There was 4 boxes measuring 3'x2'x1', so fearly large and heavy

It all boils down on what the shipper puts down for value of item and how it is shipped.

I also got a box (2'x2'x1') of exhaust piping (48lbs) shipped by UPS and got bent for $68 on duty and tax. I don't know WTF is up with UPS and charging so much....Declared value was $248.

They wouldn't blacklist you if you declared everything. It'd be hard to prove something's value is fake but I'm sure they could find ways to. It's when they catch you bringing something in undeclared that could get you into trouble.

and question when they decide there going to charge u for somehting, do u pay the customs officer in the booth the said amount or do they send you to the secondary customs check building thing.

You have to have and go into the building to pay, I'm always able to get in and out pretty quick. Me and a buddy got searched after declaring about $150 too so it can happen.

It might be but you never know. I'm sure they see a lot of high value wheels come through. I think duty is around 7%, assuming they weren't made in NA. I'd call customs to double check what the rate is for sure though.
