Question Importing Parts from the US into Canada

I tried doing some searching but couldn't find anything specific to parts (lots of info on importing cars though).

My question is... Are there any issues with importing parts from the US into Canada (ie. customs, duties, taxes, etc.) that I need to be aware of?

I've been starting to think about getting some upgrades for my sedan and want to make sure I have all the information I need. I guess the second part of my question would be... Is there a difference importing new parts from a vendor vs. importing used parts from an individual (ie. off the US classified section)?

Thanks

Your gonna be paying taxes and duties, your better off shipping to buffalo and crossing the border to pick it up yourself and install there.

Im not sure about that one, but you can always try what I told Geerider. He bought a cf trunk from strafe and had it shipped to bufffalo, I told him to make a fake CL ad saying someone selling a used trunk for 80 in buffalo and to print it out. When he came back to the border he showed them the ad and said he bought it used and paid NO duties or taxes.

Hope this helps

Yeah Buffalo is only 1700 miles from the OP's house.

Unfortunately we don't have a handy cross-border city. Great Falls MT is about the closest and that's a pretty fair hike. I just close my eyes and pay the duty/brokerage/whatever. Worth it, especially now that the dollar's nearly at par.
