Question Alignment... Calgary

Hey guys...

So in the wake of doing my mods I'm left with a real sunken cheek look that I'd like to get worked out. Turns out, as many of you already knew and I now know, that I need an alignment. I'm left looking for a good alignment shop that you guys might recommend in the Calgary area.

I want to try and steer (pardon the pun) away from stealerships and maybe looking for more of a performance shop? I need someone who can adjust my camber arms too- got a pretty bad rake going there.

Thanks again!

For what it's worth, some other modded guys seem to think highly of Alvin Automotive:

Those aren't the forums that you were trying to unload your rustang rims on, I hope... I thought we were friends?

UPDATE: Booked in with them at 8:30 tomorrow morning. I'll send my feedback for what it's worth. Tires fall off = bad. Tires not fall off= good.

Thumbs up

It's there now... the guy running the shop (Allan) is awesome and really knew his stuff. He does his own builds too and is essentially a Calgary version of Gord. He doesn't drive a G- but the rig he had out front was pretty impressive and his. He knew enough to ask what I was wanting the car to look like and said he'd make sure that although he had a GREAT alignment guy (in his words) that he would take care of the setup of my sways and raising the coils a .5 inch in the back on his own to ensure it was done right.

So far it's A+ for Alvin Automotive...
but I suppose the truth will only be known once I get the car back and have my 403 G-boys take a look at it with well tuned scrutiny.

Okay well the results are in. Awesome lead to Allan at Alvin automotive. Did a great job working with the mods that I had already (sways, camber arms) to achieve spec. Unfortunately, it appears I got arms that were somewhat restrictive... but he said it worked out okay in the end. He had to wrestle with one of the back wheels a bit because it appears the vehicle has either hit a curb or been hit at some point. Said one wheel was no problem.. the other was impossible. Told me to bring the car back at the end of the season and he'd make some efforts on the sub frame to see if that's what it was.

Anyway my sense of the place is really, really positive and I think if you had a chance to check him out or get an alignment done on his superior Hunters equipment you'll have the same feeling.

Let me know if you have any questions.

My questions: where are the pics of the new stance, and where's my search commission, haha!

To be honest, the look hasn't changed TOO much... and as for search commission- in trade for your generous direction I will allow you to assist me in tinkering in your garage on your stands and using your ramps and encouraging you to take responsibility for anything I might screw up.

I'm curious... about how much did the alignment run you? If my springs ever arrive I'll be looking to get one.

Thanks

The simple alignment was $125, but he also needed to dork with my camber arms quite a bit- So that was another hour straight time- plus a basic fee for the advanced stuff (50 bucks). Total ended up being 300 and change... I expected it to be a bit more.

Actually you could use your stout firefighter frame to help me move a big-**** TV across the room.
