Re: Start/End Time

Yeah that power telescoping steering wheel was sick! Can anyone say "retro-fit"?? LOL

Great time Jerry, thanks for the awesome event. Look forward to the next one!

Re: Start/End Time

Haha yeah I was really jealous of the power telescoping steering wheel...

I forgot to check but did anybody notice whether it had memory seats? That would be a big plus worth a retro-fit...

Re: Start/End Time

Sat in a few 05's today- don't know if you've already got the answer, but if not, here goes:
05 Coupe: No seat memory, but power back adjust for driver and pax; button push located on seat back to move seats forward and back, rather than automatic (net gain for infinite adjustability of seat back);
If the leather is plusher, as suggested, I couldn't tell.
Stone interior comes with black dash (kinda euro, but I wanted the light interior throughout, like the willow)
Stone is a little whiter than willow, wheat is a little more yellow toned than willow. Stone is near match for willow, though. Looking thru the tinted windows, you couldn't tell the diff.
Yes there is aluminum where there used to be plastic, in some places, but now there is crappy plastic (textured black plastic, for example) in some places that used to be nicer looking. The two cases in point are the cover for the mini-glove box for those without Nav, and the front cupholder cover- really disappointing.
New guages are cool.
Tilt/telescope is cool.
No intelli-key (sedan gets this, darnit!!!)
New clock is cool (backlit with light face), but I prefer the old location, since now all the data on the upper display window has less real estate and thus is smaller and harder to read)
New wheels are great looking in real life.
Colour combos for Canada as follows:
If you want wheat interior, forget the performance pkg in either AT or MT- not available. Otherwise: Athens Blue, Red, Black, and Gold (no more DP; they can call it what they like, it's gold).
For the stone interior: silverstone, pearl, brilliant silver, and Lakeshore slate (steel grey-blue metallic). For the graphite interior, no holds barred.
I had a real tough time trying to decide. Do I want a new G. For the stuff I thought needed fixing inside, IMHO, they've taken one step back for every step forward- at least that's how I felt today sitting there. As for the brakes and wheels- no brembos, but bigger rotors, wheels look light? 19's (tires) are yet more money to replace, and less sidewall vs. potholes. 18 hp gain, 100 lbs gain approx (mt), 10 lb.ft less torque.
Aaahhhh, decisions, decisions.
(My lakeshore slate/stone 6MT should be here in Feb).

For sale:
2003 G35 Coupe 5AT, 28K kms, Desert Platinum/ WIllow, Brand new rear Pilot Sport tires installed 1K km ago, K&N Drop-in, 5 wire Grounding Gear kit, JWT Pop charger (never used) available, brand new OEM front brake pads installed today, mud guards.
PM me if you're interested.

Cheers,
Derek

Comments on '05 model coupe

In addition to Derek's comments:

1. The sunglass compartment on the roof has more space which won't crush your expensive Oakley's or Ray Ban's.

2. Big plus with electronic tilt and telescopic steering adjustment.

3. Yeah, I agree that the new Infiniti Signature Clock location absolutely clashes with the digital readouts. Looks like the designer's ran out of ideas and just decided to stick the clock somewhere. Although it achieves the purpose of being able to see the clock when the Nav screen is up, c'mon there has to be a better idea.

3. New Nav screen is electronically actuated. No more cheap pop spring action. Big plus.

4. Big dial ***** that stick out like a sore thumb on environmental (Temp.) and radio controls (Volume) just don't work. Prefer the smooth look on the '03-'04 models.

5. Better positioned arm rest so that's it's actually usable in supporting your arm.

6. MP3 support on stock head unit.

Re: Comments on '05 model coupe

One other observation - they took away both outlets on either sides of the centre console. The cigarette/outlet is now located inside the ash tray compartment.

Anyone see the ads for the '05 sedan on TV?

I just saw it while watching Friends and I couldn't tell if they were showing the same rims that are on the coupe? They looked similar, but when spinning, they kinda looked weird. Is it just me or are these totally different rims on the sedan?
