May Useless Thread - Canada
Early yesterday morning, #1 Son and I went for a drive to another part of the city for some parts. Turned out they were not the right parts, but that's not part of the story. Driving up Deerfoot toward Douglas Glen I see this FX exiting the ramp to my right. The rear passenger tire is VERY low and in fact starting to flap and trail a bit of smoke. I said to my son "I hope that lady stops her car right now before she damages her expensive wheel; her tire is already wrecked."
Returning home an hour later, disappointed and partless, I notice this SAME FX parked at the side of the Deerfoot -- facing the other way, a mile in the other direction! Clearly this woman had driven into Douglas Glen, did her shopping or whatever, turned around and driven her FX most of the way back home! Needless to say, there was no tire left, and while I didn't get a good look at it, I presume the rim was destroyed beyond all repair. She must finally have clued in once the car wouldn't drive straight or upon hearing the sound of bare rim on pavement.
So now instead of a $20 tire repair, she is probably facing a new tire-and-rim replacement for -- I'm going to say at least two grand since anyone this dumb will take it to the dealer for repair!
If I were her husband, she'd be riding a tricycle to work today. Had I any idea she would do something so stupid, I would have detoured and followed her into DG, told her to park her car and get on the phone to her husband, the AMA, or a tire shop.
