Tire Question(s)
My rear tires (OEM) are worn right down, will be looking to replace them in July.
The fronts look pretty good so I'm thinking to just replace the rears.
Is this a good idea?
If so, I see a wide disparity in pricing between the RE050 and the RE760. Not only are the RE760 priced lower, but they also have a much higher wear rating (to be honest, I'm not terribly impressed that the rears need replacing after one and a half summers, some spirited driving but mostly civilized).
I keep reading not to have different tires front and back, would it be alright to go with the RE760's in the rear with the RE050's in the front?
I would seriously consider switching over to the RE760's front and back if it's a big deal.
Thanks in advance for your comments!

Now i have Nankang's up front and Nitto's out back and have zero problems. As long as the tires are similar in performance they shouldnt give you any issues.

I'm tired of looking. Gonna get the Bridgestone RE760 Sport - $800.00 plus tax in TO.
The best price I found in Canada for the V12 was $850 shipped, then $? to mount. The reviews seem to suggest they wear out faster. I almost bought a set of used Pilot Sports 90% on 17'rims for $700 on kijiji, but couldn't bring myself to go with the 5 spoke 17"s.

Seeing as you are in Kitchener, it might be worth it to get a quote from Dettmer tire in Guelph (Stevenson and Eramosa intersection). They gave me a quote on a set of rears for the RE050's and it was very comparable to getting them shipped up from Tire Rack. Haven't got to them yet about the RE760's though....they also sell Zaino products there.
