DSLR guys - some advice please?
If you used the kit lens, you would only have 2 options:
1) Try to take the shot at low iso's and hope you get lucky, but you'll probably end up with motion blur. In the photography world, there is nothing worse than motion blur.
2) Try to take the shot at high iso's and end up with a noisy picture, although this option would be less likely to have motion blur. This would be my preferred route if I were to use the kit lens in this particular situation.

I have one Swiv. You can borrow it if you like, or you can rent one from The Camera Store.

After serious consideration, I decided to up my budget a bit and got the D90. The included 18-105 lens is an accepted compromise but was bought so I could hit the ground running. As time goes by, other lenses and accessories will be purchased for this rig. Thanks for the ideas and arguments guys!

And no front plate - one minor benefit of living in Wildrose Country.
Autofocus is great in the body. I'm a nikon fan, and it really depends what your looking for. I'm just going to add that when you decide on the model and brand, make sure you shop around. "The Camera Store" is great and has awesome service, but they don't have the best deals all the time. If you ask them they might beat the price or throw some stuff in for free though.

SAIT offers some really good photo courses in the evenings. I enjoyed the low-light classes quite a bit.
