^ What he said, I bought a d50 with kit lens off my friend for cheap a few months back. Nothing worst than the grain at high iso, and motion blur.

I have one Swiv. You can borrow it if you like, or you can rent one from The Camera Store.

After serious consideration, I decided to up my budget a bit and got the D90. The included 18-105 lens is an accepted compromise but was bought so I could hit the ground running. As time goes by, other lenses and accessories will be purchased for this rig. Thanks for the ideas and arguments guys!

That should be a great setup. Easy these days to add a TB or two of storage.

you should have got a Canon 40D!

Amazing camera!

Sometimes shooting in Auto is great for outside, depends on the light outside.

Nice shot of the G.
Thanks. Once I've learned how to use the camera properly I'll need to take some real beauty shots.

And no front plate - one minor benefit of living in Wildrose Country.

Autofocus is great in the body. I'm a nikon fan, and it really depends what your looking for. I'm just going to add that when you decide on the model and brand, make sure you shop around. "The Camera Store" is great and has awesome service, but they don't have the best deals all the time. If you ask them they might beat the price or throw some stuff in for free though.

Too late. Jumped already and bought the D90 from The Camera Store. If I could have saved a couple bux I would have, but the service was great. I'm a somewhat impulsive shopper and if a clerk gives me good service I stop shopping and buy.

SAIT offers some really good photo courses in the evenings. I enjoyed the low-light classes quite a bit.

What did you get the D90 for ? I am looking to get one real soon mainly for its low light /high ISO as I take night shots of CARS .
I see Vistek has a body alone for $799 .
