my guess is that it was underground parking and she might of reversed into a rectangular cement pole that was in her blind spot

im gonna say a round pole in an underground parking lot...undergrounds in toronto are notorious for it.

if it were a collision the damage area wouldnt be so concentrated

lending your car out to siblings then having them lie about the damage I would make her pay the deductable and the increase in yearly rate just for the fact she lied about it.

I love this thread.... CSI style...

If she is younger, teach her a lesson... if she is older.. make her pay

GL with the repair. It doesn't matter who drove it, the car was "parked" right? ... but i'm sure if the insurance company sends a person to check it out... he or she will have a hard time believing there was another vehicle involved.

I tried talking to her and she still won't admit to it. I made her go to the Police Collision Centre to file a report. My insurance is most likely going to cover it since I do have full coverage.

My younger sister was driving one of my cars once and hit a curb full force. I had to replace a custom Cragar SS Mag and a bent spindle. She couldn't help but fess up about it, the poor kid. I felt so bad for her what could I say.

Dude that sucks. Sorry to hear your baby was banged up. I can't help but think that the consensus here is right. Since if it was a one-way and someone would've had to have hit you coming from behind, therefore the scratch would deepen moving towards the front of the car, not vice versa, unless they backed into you - but how would a guy hit you like that unless they were parked on the other side of the street and what kind of one-way has parking on BOTH sides of the street? Or that has to be the saddest parallel park I've ever seen (to have hit you that way).

I'm a solid 'PLUS 1' on the white parking pillar in underground parking.

GL with the claim.

Unfortunately for you I think the insurance people are going to take one look at that damage and say "so.....you wanna tell us one more time how this happened"?
If they suspect fraud it won't go well for you. Does your sister understand what kind of trouble she can get you in IF she is lying?
Good luck though.

Yeah. Just mention to your sister before taking the car in that insurance fraud is not a good thing. Make sure you scare her.

And as many others have said, That definitely looks like some self inflicted damage with a pole or barrier of some sort.

Seriously, I don't think most adjusters are that stupid. They will never believe the BS story of a hit and run.
You better be prepared to pay out of pocket.
