Quote: Your 100% right. Just as prev. stated, the Nissan GTR already proved the performance side of the make. The question is why did Infiniti decide to come out with a PERFORMANCE line and not really upgrade the performance. Its hyping people up for nothing to me. The IPL G37 should be called the G37s (as prev. stated) but that's already taken. We need the IPL to be a line up of turbos, superchargers, or big souped up naturally aspirated motors! If that's not going to happen anytime soon than please Infiniti, release the Essence beast.
IPL is more akin to Lexus' F-Sport line than MB's AMG division or BMW's M.

I image the F-Sport packages will represent both new variants of existing models, and a line of factory-branded/supplied aftermarket equipment.

I would bet that Infiniti is banking on making more $$$ on the aftermarket with this brand than anything else.

The IS-F got a new engine, new tranny, new suspension... new, well, everything. To me the IPL seems akin to Acura's Type-S; some body work, slightly upgraded suspension, different exhaust.

IS-F sport line provides parts to modify regular IS's. I belive thats what he meant.
The current IPL cannot be compared to the IS F.

2011 Infiniti IPL G Coupe to Start at $48,825 US
http://wot.motortrend.com/6714756/au...825/index.html

So in Canada, we could possibly be looking at a 60k+ price tag (not including taxes.)

I put the o/u on units sold in Canada at 25.

If they could narrow the price gap between the regular G and the IPL G make it similar to the 370Z and the 370Z Nismo with numbered cars. When I look at the Nismo and the regular 370Z I would take the Nismo for sure just on the interior and exterior upgrades.

only thing that makes the IPL and IPL is the following

1. overpriced body kit
2. 370z nismo ECU
3. exhaust (probably designed by Stillen or some sh*t)

I am extremely unimpressed.

Again, your missing the big picture. This is the START it shows that Infiniti is at least interested in offering performance parts and tuned cars. Is the IPL car a monster no but it gives an option and hopefully in the next 5 years it will compete with the "M" and "IS-F". At least it shows interest from Infiniti and again I would buy one just to have something a little more exclusive even though I would still change the wheels and suspension out. It seems similar to the 370Z vs Nismo 370Z and no one is pissed off about the Nismo line

The first mods the average tuner makes are intake, exhaust, a retune, wheels new shocks and springs this way it is all done and financed with the car. I think that is a decent deal for $3,000
