Mosport This Weekend - BE THERE! ALMS, Canadian Touring Car

Hey Guys,

If you didn't make it to the Toronto Indy you FOR SURE need to come to the ALMS weekend at Mosport. First of all, you should see Mosport because it's the most amazing track in North America. And you can drive it with your own car pretty much whenever you want for a few hundred bucks.

Secondly, watching the ALMS prototypes go around Mosport pulling 3+G's is the most awe inspiring thing ever.

Thirdly, we're racing in the Canadian Touring Car on Saturday and Sunday so you should come cheer us on and watch touring cars rip it up, bang into each other and just basically drive like maniacs!

To make your life easy:

ALMS Tickets:

http://www.mosport.com/tickets.htm

Saturday only is $40.00, we qualify and race on Saturday and the ALMS cars will be out practicing a few times that day. It's prob the best value day to come watch!

You can also camp out at Mosport which is the most fun thing to do ever, because it's like camping with bon fires plus racing. Wandering through the paddock at night watching the pro teams wrench on $500,000 cars inside their own essentially portable shops is almost more incredible than watching the cars on the track.

Here are more details about the event, maps, schedule:

If you do come, be sure to come by our pit and say hi! We're G1 Racing under the big blue awning in the Canadian Touring Car section. You can't miss us!

ALMS weekend was awesome at Mosport!
Sasha, congrats on the two 3rd place finishes. Sunday's race was great, saw you pass the RSX on the last 2 turns to take 3rd on the last lap. Well done!
What happened to Bob?
Great weekend, so much racing.

Thanks guys,

The race with Mathieu was intense, we had a great battle that started at turn 4! I passed him, he re-passed me up the straight, I re-passed in 8 and was able to make it stick. So fun.

Bob's luck wasn't there this weekend. In qualifying a wheel broke - around the hub at the spokes - sending the car into the tire wall really hard, he left the track at over 140km/h and most likely didn't slow down below 80 before hitting the tire wall. It looks like the wheel had some contact before and must have started cracking - it was just never noticed.

Pictures and videos to come!

Bob seems to be building some sort of trend....

Good work Sasha, one day when I win the lottery I'll make it out to that side of the country to see what mosport is all about

Thanks guys!

We were at an Airport yes for the William Osler Health System Foundation, it was a chairity event for the team. I wasn't there, but we did raise some money for the foundation and got to show some people the car so that's always cool!

That's a great cause, your involvement was appreciated I'm sure. Working at the Airport especially working 'airside' quite a bit I always have this fantasy of racing my car down the runway during a closure (I like my job too much so I don't though!!). I believe the car was there during the 'runway run' - did your team get a chance to let it rip down 06R-24L?

Thanks, yea it was nice. I wasn't there personally but we raffled off a prize to be crew for a day at the Toronto Indy and the guy that won had a great time with us, so it was well worth it.

As far as I know our car didn't get to partake in the runway run. It would be awesome to try and top it out though haha!

Any pics of the weekend?

I am no gear head but a close-up of those ALMS canards would be ideal.
