Car stopped on highway for no reason, help please!

Hi MODS hope you do not mind my double threads, i did create the same thread in g35 coupe sub-forum, but i wanted to ask my Canadian buddies since i know most of them are really knowledgeable. here it goes:

i did search almost all options ,went through 10 pages of result, non of them seems to match my problem, if there was any other thread i could have missed, sorry !!

i was on highway today, everything seemed like fine, i was doing around 110kms/hr 5th gear(5at) my charger was charging both of ipod and my gps and was listening to the cassette player which i plug intomy ipod,

then i decided to turn on the fans(non-a/c mode) the moment i turned it on the car all of a sudden had this kick (kind of like a stall) and stopped in the middle of a busy highway!!!! i tried to push on the gas no response at all, the dash lights went off(no engine light or any warning, almost like turning off the car), luckily the steering wheel did not lock itself and the brakes worked and i stopped, i re-started the car, the car acted like everything was all normal, however when i did stop for a break i realized my parking lights are pale , but my xenon lights are fine.(i recently changed my battery, a good brand)

rest of the day i had to drive back to toronto and did around 200kms , no problem at all, i was so scared cause i had 2 other people and my baby nephew with me, it was a pretty dangereous, situation, now i really need you guys' help on this, cause i really wanna fix this problem or im not gonna let anyone sit in my car beside myself.

sorry for the long post, i tried to give you guys all the details of the incident.
thank you

p.s: my car is 2003 g35 coupe 5at, 93,000 kms

Sounds like it was your serpentine belt, but obviously if that broke the car wouldn't "fix itself" and be driving 10 minutes later. Check your belts anyways. Maybe it slipped off and slipped back on or something...who the hell knows. Other than that i can't really think of anything that comes to the top of my head.

Have you checked the battery connections? Are they secure to their posts?

That would be my 1st check point, from the way it stopped, then started up again.
All of the above are good suggestions to start with.

i had this happen to me once, opened up the hood and saw the alternator belt had blown off, so battery was not getting recharged

check your air filter too, maybe it's so dirty that your engine got cut off due to a lack of oxygen

i highly doubt its the air filter cause i changed it a month ago. well we'll see when we take into simone performance ,they can probably tell. i just spoke to him on the phone he said it might be the crank sensor. alternator belt does make a lot of sense too.thanks for the suggestions i ll use them when we brainstorm with VIC!

i ll update this evening, hopefully its not something too big or complicated!

update: went to Simone Performance, he checked everythign but no error codes. then he even suggested me trying the dealership, went to dowtonw infiniti same run codes and everything not even a single error code.

well at least Vic was nice enough not to charge me anything eventhough he did work on the car, but i cant say the same for the downtown, 119 bucks plus tax for diagnosing nothing, btw if u have a 2003 coupe u should go to ur dealer for recall , passenger side airbag has amalfunction which has to be covered, i did confirm with them they wont charge me but it would take at least 2-3 hours and they can give me a loaner for the day if i call them 2-3 days in advance.

overall i cant seem to find whats wrong with my car, one thing i noticed was when i start the car the front parking lights do not work, but when i change it to auto it starts working and my xenons work fine as well. maybe it was a fuse malfunction. i decided not to go long trips with anyone else but me, dont wanna get into the same situation with other people with me!
